s r o s n o p S } r { Premie Miami Book Fair International would like to thank its Premier Sponsors for their generous support of the 2013 Authors Program and Street Fair. These are the two largest programs of the Fair, and would not be possible without their support.
OHL-Arellano Construction A very special welcome to OHL-Arellano, first-time sponsors of the always-popular Street Fair. You may have seen one of our 1,600+ volunteers proudly sporting the OHL/Arellano logo on their volunteer t-shirts. Thanks to the company’s support, thousands of fairgoers enjoyed all that the Street Fair offers, including live music on the World Stage, numerous exhibitors selling diverse books, and the tasty offerings of the food court. OHL/Arellano Construction, a Miami-based construction company values community-building, and recognizes in the Fair the same commitment to creating a great place that is welcoming of everyone. OHL/Arellano has pledged a half million dollars over the next 10 years to support the Book Fair’s continued success.

Miami Book Fair International would like to thank our 2013 Associate Sponsors:
The Miami Foundation The Miami Foundation makes Miami a better place to live, work and play by connecting philanthropy with community needs and opportunities. The Miami Foundation sponsored The Park, a pop-up green space where fairgoers could play soccer, climb monkey bars, picnic, or recline to read their brand-new books. They also supported Children’s Alley and the Generation Genius Authors program, which afforded children and teens the opportunity to attend author events, participate in fun learning activities and get free books. Lastly, they sponsored the Transforming Communities panel discussion, which featured three of the nation’s greatest thought leaders in social change and community building. We thank The Miami Foundation, for supporting the Fair again in 2013, and for being at the forefront of making our Miami one of the strongest communities in the country.

TD Bank TD Bank is committed to making a meaningful and positive contribution to the individuals, families, businesses and communities within their marketplace. They serve on boards, work with neighborhood groups, and donate thousands of hours of volunteer time to numerous civic and non-profit organizations. Their community spirit and involvement embodies the very core of their corporate citizenship philosophy. The Book Fair was thrilled to have them as sponsors this year and their booth was one of the most popular at the Street Fair. They also helped ensure our supporters had a great fair by sponsoring our Friends of the Fair Lounge where supporters and members could take a break from all the activity of the Book Fair and recharge for their next author session.

Cheerios® Spoonfuls of Stories® Cheerios believes reading is a key building block for learning and life. In 2002, they created the Cheerios® Spoonfuls of Stories® program to help kids reach their full potential by nourishing their minds and bodies. Since 2002, Cheerios has given away more than 70 million books inside Cheerios boxes. A partnership between Cheerios® Spoonfuls of Stories® and the Book Fair was a natural fit, and we were thrilled to host Celeste Jenkins, the most recent winner of the annual new author contest, at this year’s Book Fair. Celeste was able read from her book, The Lost Balloon, to hundreds of kids during multiple sessions at this year’s Book Fair. Cheerios also generously donated 2,000 copies of
The Lost Balloon and Bill Joyces’ The Guardians to children attending the Fair.

The Book Fair estimates that there were more than 100 million gross impressions made throughout the marketing, promotional and advertising campaigns for the 2014 Book Fair. The outreach effort for the 2013 Book Fair increased in scope, both in numbers and methods of communication. Print materials and electronic information were provided to restaurants, merchants, condominiums, apartment complexes, public libraries, malls, private and public schools and college campuses, as well as to subscribers of special interest groups throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties. This year the Book Fair increased its online outreach efforts through expanded exposure via social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and YouTube. Marketing plans also included taking advantage of other online outreach resources, such as email blasts and ads on The Miami Herald, Miami New Times, and Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau website as well as more niche publications like Goodreads, South Florida Gourmet, Munchkin Fun and South Florida Parenting among others. This year also marked an increased focus of the Book Fair’s national redirected marketing efforts. In addition to outreach distribution, the Book Fair took advantage of partnerships with Miami-Dade County Transit; placing posters in 136 Metrorail cars and on ten key train platforms and on busbacks. The Book Fair also partnered with Tri-Rail, and placed posters in trains that included directions on transferring to Metrorail to get to the Fair.
