Over a hundred people have died in the rising death toll of Hurricane Ian, but what else has it left behind? Flooded backyards? Destroyed homes? Yes, both of those are true but it has left something behind much worst. Flesh-eating bacteria!

Kids through the age of 12 have experienced so much in their lives. With covid, some people just don’t realize how much kids have been through these past few years.
Journalist Brianna Hoge says kids have become more stressed than ever and that anxiety levels have increased by 40 percent since 2019.
An average day for a kid includes spending 7-8 hours of their day in school. Then after that, they go home and do whatever homework they have. That usually takes 1-2 hours. Middle school kids spend 10 hours of their day doing school-related stuff. This is a lot.
The bacteria is called Vibrio vulnificus. Florida county believes it’s the water that Hurricane Ian threw around, that got into open wounds, or in mouths/noses. It is likely the water had the deadly bacteria in it.
