FINS FLASHBACK
•
The win enabled Miami to finish with an 11-5 record and earn its first division title since 1994.
•
Late in the fourth quarter, following a LB Zach Thomas interception, the Dolphins embarked on a 12-play, 45-yard drive that culminated with K Olindo Mare’s 49-yard field goal with nine seconds remaining.
•
After the game seemingly ended following an incomplete pass by New England QB Drew Bledsoe from the Patriots’ 40, both teams were called back on the field 35 minutes later after it was ruled that three seconds still remained. Patriots QB Michael Bishop’s final pass attempt was off the mark.
•
Despite being limited to 26 yards on 20 carries, Dolphins RB Lamar Smith scored two touchdowns on 1-yard runs.

DOLPHINS PATRIOTS 2020
JOHN CONGEMI PREVIEWS DOLPHINS AT PATRIOTS
WEEK 1 PREVIEW
Every head coach across the NFL is preaching to his team this week about playing with discipline and being fundamentally sound. The teams that can limit the pre-snap penalties, illegal formations and common mistakes that usually occur during the preseason will have a substantial edge in winning Week 1 games. Something else to watch for is the amount of missed tackles or free pass rushers on blitz packages. Those are the kind of physical and mental mistakes that can turn these Week 1 games around in a hurry.
A lot has changed since December 29, 2019. Nine months after Ryan Fitzpatrick found Mike Gesicki for a go-ahead touchdown the last time the Dolphins took the field, we’ve seen coaching changes, a draft and free agency haul and all of that crammed in around a global pandemic. Thanks to incredible work and unprecedented precautions taken across the NFL, we have football once more. A very different looking Dolphins team in Year 2 under Brian Flores travels to New England to face a Patriots team with plenty of new faces of its own. click to read full article

FAN CLUB FEATURE
BOSTON FAN CLUB
Where is your club located?
Boston, MA
When was your club founded?
The end of the 2012 season when the group founders met Coach Philbin’s sister, Ellen, who was watching games at the same establishment as them.
How many members does your club have?
1,298 members on our Facebook page “Miami Dolphins Fans of Boston”
Where do you gather on gamedays?
Bushwood Cocktail Club (131 Broad Street, Boston, MA 02110)
Does your club have any traditions?
We drink aqua colored shots, and sing the Dolphins fight song for each touchdown scored. The group leaders also attend the home opener in Miami each season.
What’s your favorite Dolphins memory with fellow club members?
When the Miami Dolphins made the playoffs in the 2016 season. Even though they lost in the Wild Card round against the Steelers, the energy and excitement level was amazing!
Which game are you most excited for this season?
The season opener against the Patriots in Foxborough. Beating the Patriots in their stadium to close last season, after struggling to win there for multiple seasons, sent a message that Miami is a threat to be taken seriously. It will be exciting to see how this year’s team performs against a Patriots team without Tom Brady.
Does your club have a message for your fellow Dolphins fans in 2020?
While we may be starting the season in enemy territory, without the ability to attend the game at Gillette Stadium, we fully expect to be as loud as possible to make our presence known! This will be a unique season, with unique challenges, but we trust in Coach Flores to make the Miami Dolphins a playoff contender once again. Be safe, be well, and if you are ever in the Boston area, feel free to check us out! FINS UP! 33
