A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS Dear Canes Fans, The 2012-13 year was one of the most successful in Miami Hurricanes athletics history with 15 of our 18 programs represented in NCAA postseason play. Just a few of the highlights: men’s basketball’s winning their first ever ACC regular-season and tournament titles; an ACC Tournament championship by women’s tennis; and baseball extending its impressive streak of 41 consecutive NCAA postseason appearances. Our student-athletes achieved success in the classroom as well. All 18 programs achieved on the NCAA Academic Progress Rates (APR) report, with three receiving Public APR Recognition Awards. In addition, Miami continues to be among the nation’s leaders with a school-record 93% Graduation Success Rate (GSR). We are building champions on and off the field. Two of our crowning achievements in 2013 were made possible by the tremendous support we continue to receive from Canes supporters. We opened the state-of-the-art Theodore G. Schwartz and Todd G. Schwartz Center for Athletic Excellence, built by a $15 million campaign coordinated by the Hurricane Club. In addition, thanks to its award-winning #BuildingChampions campaign, the Hurricane Club now has a record-high of more than 6,000 active members, an increase of nearly 2,000 in two years. Thank you for standing with the U and helping us build champions. Go Canes,

Blake James
