Your transfer application process To apply for transfer admission, please submit the following items: »» Application — Complete Miami’s online transfer application or the transfer Common Application. »» $50 application fee — Miami grants application fee waivers to students attending partner institutions, U.S. veterans and military personnel, students who claim financial hardships, and students participating in designated transfer events or programs. »» Official high school transcript — This transcript must include the date of high school graduation. »» Official institutional transcript(s) — A transcript must be sent directly from each college/university you have attended since high school. »» ACT/SAT scores — Test scores may be included on your official high school transcript or sent directly from the testing center. Test scores are not required for students who have been out of high school for more than five years or who have already completed 20 graded semester hours after graduating high school. Students who have the strongest academic records are given priority consideration. In recent years, most transfer students with a 3.00 GPA or better in a rigorous academic curriculum have been accepted for admission. However, when space and facilities permit, transfer students who are below this average but who have at least a 2.00 GPA will be considered. Applicants from another Ohio public college or university who have completed the Ohio transfer module or an associate degree from that institution will receive preferential admission consideration in accordance with the Ohio Articulation Agreement and Transfer Policy. FINANCING YOUR EDUCATION TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS New transfer students admitted for either the spring or fall semester will be considered for merit and need-based scholarship opportunities. Eligibility is determined at the time of admission. A student must be eligible to receive federal aid and have submitted the FAFSA to be considered for need-based scholarships. Exact scholarship amounts within each range will be determined by a holistic review of the application for admission. AVOIDING THE SEAL The University Seal is embedded into the sidewalk in the center of campus (also called the Hub). Miami tradition is to avoid stepping on the seal out of respect for Miami history and values. Tradition goes that if you do step on the seal, you’ll be punished by failing your next exam.

CLERY ACT The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistics Act (commonly known as the Clery Act) is a federal law that requires colleges and universities in the United States to disclose campus security information including crime statistics for the campus and surrounding areas. It was first enacted by Congress in 1990 and most recently amended in 2013 by the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act.
