It doesn’t matter that these traditions don’t make sense to others. Not one bit. Because they make sense to us. Perfect sense. They bind us to this place and to one another. In the stands or on the court — you can get in the game. RedHawk athletes — and the thousands who cheer them on — are united by one simple thing: pure, unadulterated love of the game. Because even though Miami athletics has a proud history with more than a few championship banners, we think athletics consists of much more than acquiring trophies. Athletics is that time you camped out overnight for the best seats in the arena. It’s the band marching on the field and playing the fight song while the fans sing off-key. It’s pregame butterflies and postgame celebrations. It’s friendly matches and fierce competition. But mostly, it’s fun. And we’d love for you to join the game. Varsity teams compete in the NCAA Division I Mid-American Conference, the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, and the U.S. Figure Skating Association.

WHEN IS A TOWN ALSO A LEGACY? Oxford, Ohio, is a place unlike any other in the country, a town custom-made to call home for four unforgettable years. It’s a true college town, meaning it was built as a result of the college — for the 17,000-plus undergraduate students who call this home. It’s small enough to get around by foot and big enough to fill the needs of any student. Follow the Slant Walk to Uptown and discover a quaint college town brimming with metropolitan ideals. Oxford is about 35 miles north of Cincinnati — meaning it’s near enough for last-minute adventures in the city, but far enough away to feel like a world apart. In other words, it’s the perfect setting for an ideal college — and living — experience.

“ALL ROADS DON'T LEAD TO OXFORD. TO GET HERE, YOU HAVE TO WANT TO GET HERE. BUT ONCE YOU'RE HERE, YOU NEVER WANT TO LEAVE.” PHILLIP R. SHRIVER, PRESIDENT OF MIAMI UNIVERSITY, 1965 – 1981
