MIB: the premises
MIB Trieste School of Management is located in one of the most prestigious historical buildings in Trieste. Palazzo Ferdinandeo was built within the large Parco del Farneto in 1858, in honor of Emperor Ferdinand I von Hapsburg. Thanks to its charm, Ferdinandeo has become an integral part of the School’s identity. The refurbishment aimed to both restore the original architectural features and to create a series of spaces not exclusively designed for the training activities of the School, but also for public events such as conferences, exhibitions, and concerts. The beautiful Hapsburg imperial ballroom is now used as a conference hall: it accommodates up to 200 people,
and is considered a gem among the conference halls in the region. The building hosts classrooms, libraries, reading rooms, a coffee bar, a selfservice restaurant, a student lounge and support and service offices. This historical location has had the latest technology installed to support both classroom learning and e-learning. The most recent renovations have included the set-up of two lecture theatres dedicated to the hybrid learning with a combination of tech tools to deliver teaching simultaneously to students both physically on-campus and those learning online.
Pavilion To meet the need for new spaces for an expanding school, a new and modern pavilion was inaugurated in 2010. The pavilion has two classrooms and a large multi-purpose hall: a contemporary work of art, a model of sustainable building, with a simple structure, designed not to overshadow the strong historical-architectural value of the neighboring Ferdinandeo.
