Formal experiments conducted during Day 1 of the weekend workshop using video, photography and clay impressions. My three limitations were: work somewhere you never work, make it stop motion, make it laugh.
Images produced overnight during the weekend workshop by videotaping a walk through Bolton Hill and compressing each frame to the width of a few pixels, then aligning them sequentially.
Yarn and thread webs created at my apartment for the following series of formal explorations. I shot photographs and video of the webs, then manipulated it on the computer.
I overlaid videos of the web of thread and yarn, then chot long-exposure photographs of the video as it played on the computer screen.
I added vector shapes to these new web image to play with the idea of connecting separate entities.

Using the web images that I created through the video and photographic process, I began turning them into poster designs. I focused on two different themes; how technology helps people and cities to connect and how crowdsourcing allows people to mine the collective intelligence for ideas.

The final poster design uses my processed yarn and thread image with additional vector shapes and photographic type to create an interconnected and dimensional web. Welcome to the Neighborhood: make virtual connections to virtually anywhere.
