a hiking hotspot
our logo Hiking is a secret treasure of Bel Air, and it’s a very active sport. That’s why we want to create a dynamic brand to parallel with our emphasis on hiking. We have three logo marks, that touch on an outdoors and adventurous theme. These marks are versatile, and can be superimposed on imagery effectively, with its simple design.
typefaces
canav e ral Canaveral Canaveral is a typeface from the LostType foundry, and is a main component of our brand . This font gives a clean, and modern-yet-vintage feel, and work within our aesthetic. The boldness gives a visual punch, and looks great when it’s superimposed on photographs.
mensch thin Mensch is also a typeface from the LostType foundry. We mainly use the thin font-style, because it contrasts strikingly with Canaveral Canaveral. Similar to our color scheme, we like to create visual contrast to make for a better experience and wider breath of use for our design.

color is important Our colors are carefully chosen to inform our brand and values. Hiking is both relaxing and excitinga total liberation. We decided to choose warm and cool colors, that give a similar feeling to a beautiful sunset or sunrise. The cool blue and red is contrasted with a bright orange, which is mainly used for print purposes.
environment To develop our hiking and outdoors brand concept further, we have translated this style into our local signage. All of our Bel Air location signs strongly refer to hiking trail signs. They are bigger and prominently show our logo, to attract passerbys.
on the web Our presence on the web is sophisticated, and caters to the hiking community we seek. An emphasis on hiking locations and hot spots is displayed, but our site is not limited to this activity. Our site offers information on the city in general, and also features upcoming events in our Downtown Bel Air area.
