Budget Host’s History 1975.
Budget Host is an American lodging chain. It was founded in 1975 in Fort Worth, Texas by Ray Sawyer and Ed Semmler. Sawyer died in 2007.
1995.
Unlike most motel chains, it uses a referral system, thus allowing independent motel operators to use the name. Ray, who formerly worked as the editor of Motel/motor Inn Journal, was inspired by Norman Rockwell painting such as those found in the Saturday Evening post. His logo was intended to evoke feelings of warmth and hospitality with a down to earth sensibility.
In March 2017, Budget Host’s current owner, Lisa Sawyer, has asked for concepts for a rebrand of her father’s company,
