ACL Tarring
How ACL are torn.
George Hovis was a soccer player and a great one at that. But on September 23,1964,he wasn’t so lucky. He torn his ACL after going for a ball and a defender slide tackling him. Statics show 81,600 people injured their knee playing soccer. They also show that women are 2 to 8 times as likely as men to have an ACL injury. (4) In 1995, an article was published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine that found that female basketball players in the NCAA tore
their ACLs four times more often than male basketball players. In the same study, women who played NCAA soccer had ACL injuries twice as often as male soccer players. An estimated 200,000 ACL injuries occur annually in the United States.(8) Approximately 60,000-75,000 ACL reconstructions are performed each year.(6) To prevent this from happening to you. You can stretch everyday. Drink your milk, eat healthy. This includes veggies, fruits, etc. George Hovis will be out for
a whole year, just to make sure he is able to play in the next coming season.
that he needs all of the food groups. Even though he got stronger and his muscles got bigger but they were not strong. He decided to enter a lifting weight contest. As they did the light weights he was
fine. But as I got heavier, his bones would shake. They did not have the vitamins he needed to lift that weight.

When she turned 11, she learned how to do a back tuck, then a pop into a front tuck. She needed a little more narrow to land this trick perfectly. She started to become bulimic. At first it was hard to throw up, but then after for doing it for three years it was easy. "I didn't know how bad
it was for me, I just wanted to be skinner." She had no nutrition, in fact she had no food inside of her to get energy from.(2) She now has to go to a clinic so she can regain her strength for next years state.

One Bag at a Time
"On the count of three nutrition, 1 2 3 nutrition." That’s what you heard as team nutrition,(a soccer team from Michigan,) left the heard and then moved about to their station at the food bank. Some were moving the boxes from one to another. Others did the packing, from
carrots to asparagus. They are trying to make food pantries more healthy. They are going from food bank to food bank, making more and more bags full of veggies and healthy foods. They hope that they can change the world one bag at a time.

Dehydration Stepping in for Mia Hamm is Sarah Brown. She usually plays defense, but today she will be playing up top, subbing in for Mia Hamm. Sarah brown is the fastest one around. But she isn't usually the one up top. So this will be really nice to see. As the second half begins Sarah brown pressures the ball. But does not win it. As the game goes on she does a great job of pressuring. But does not have any shots on goal. She finally see the switch run. As she sprints to other side, the far left defender switches straight to the corner. Sarah faster then ever takes off after it. She gets there and dribbles it to the net. Sweat drip-
ping from her face, you can hear her panting. She takes a shot it goes in. But then she collapses. The coach was called unto the field, she was dehydrated. Her tongue was swollen and she had cramps all over.(2,7) she was carried off, and was taken to the hospital because she needed fluids.(7)
