In|Finite

This collection of works is the result of a technical exploration of darkroom photography. The following images stem from an interest in capturing both the “finite” and “infinite” moments that a camera is able to obtain. The way in which a specific object or scene is captured can drastically influence the personal narrative that a viewer perceives from a photograph. The artist’s intent was to provide a range of images that can be seen as either “finite” moments taken at face value, or “infinite” in the narratives that a viewer can provide. The intent is not to evoke an argument as to whether “finite” or “infinite” photos are more effective, but rather an awareness of what causes an image to be categorized in this manner.

“It is the obvious which is so difficult to see most of the time. People say ‘It’s as plain as the nose on your face.’ But how much of the nose on your face can you see, unless someone holds a mirror up to you?” — Isaac Asimov
