Obituary
arreyl Keichanta Porter, affectionately known as “Reyl” or “LP”, was born on August 19, 1981, to Phyllis Y. Magby and the late Larry Leroy Porter at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Larreyl attended Atlanta Public Schools and, in 1999, graduated from Frederick Douglass High School. She continued her education at the University of West Georgia where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Information Technology. As a child and well into her adulthood, Larreyl attended and was a member of New Springfield Baptist Church. During her tenure in Cincinnati, Ohio, she attended Greater Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and truly lived her life for Him. Being of service to others was a joy for Larreyl – as it always warmed her heart and made her smile. Larreyl held a career in the field of accounting and worked with several companies. She also served as an educator in the Cincinnati Public School System. Her final job, prior to her departure, was with the State of Ohio helping people with disabilities. Her love for people was evident in her caring nature. In her adolescence, Larreyl enjoyed cooking, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She loved to travel, often going on cruises and beach vacations. As a teenager, she and her friends would often spend time at Lenox Mall and Cobb Galleria. When she wasn’t hanging with friends, she spent a great deal of time with her nieces and nephews. Although she never birthed children of her own, she raised and cared for her puppy, Bruiser Porter, whom she considered her son. Also, her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy. Her caring nature was essential to their upbringing. She had a bond with each of them – one that will never be broken. To this day, each one of her loved ones cherish special memories of the time they shared as a loving, close-knit family. Larreyl was a pillar in her family and community as a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, friend and so much more. The vacancy she has left will never be refilled. Larreyl was preceded in death by her father, Larry Leroy Porter; grandmother, Lucille F. Magby; cousin, Orlando “Scooby” Magby; and aunt, Teresa Magby. She leaves behind to celebrate her legacy and cherish her memory her loving mother, Phyllis Y. Magby; her dog-son, Bruiser Porter; paternal grandmother, Mildred Porter; maternal grandfather, Roy Lee Magby, Sr.; two sisters, LaKisha Magby and Shanta Holland; a brother Sal Mineo Porter; four uncles, Roy Magby, Jr., Bradley B. Come With Me God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be So he put His arms around you And whispered “Come to me.” With tearful eyes we watched you As you slowly slipped away And though we loved you dearly We couldn’t make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating Your tired hands put to rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.

Perhaps you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a flower piece, if so, we saw it there. Perhaps you said the kindest words, that any friend could say. Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought uf us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, We thank you so much. Whatever the part. The Family of Larreyl Porter
