FINANCE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Governing Council The Governing Council is responsible for setting the broad strategic directions for the school in collaboration with the Principal Leadership Team. Governing Council ratifies and approves the annual budget as presented by the Finance Committee. The Council has the power to instruct Finance Committee to modify and re-submit an adjusted budget as per the specified criteria.

Finance Committee The committee provides advice, guidance, direction and clarification on budgetary issues during the development of the budget. The Finance Committee monitors the budget throughout the year with budget adjustments requiring Council approval. At the end of the process the committee recommends the annual budget to Governing Council for approval.

Principal Overall responsibility for the budget process to ensure it delivers school directions and meets DECD requirements.

Assistant Principal - Data Management, Timetable, Senior School Focus, Staffing Overall responsibility for timetable development and implementation; subject offerings; subject counselling and associated Human Resources. Develops Human Resource Profile to manage and predict staffing needs. Responsible for staffing budget.

Assistant Principal – International Programs Supports implementation and overall management of the International Student Program and the associated funding.

Business Manager Develops the school budget in collaboration with Governing Council, Finance Committee, Principal, Finance Manager and Budget Managers and manages the timeline / process.

Finance Manager Ensures that financial procedures are adhered to and reports irregularities to the Business Manager and / or Principal. Responsible for providing day-to-day advice and support to budget managers particularly in relation to correct financial practices and monitoring the progress of income and expenditure.

Budget Managers Responsible for the submission of a budget program of income / expenditure which delivers the school directions and meets the educational needs of students; for consultation with their team; for ensuring that staff are aware of the required practices and procedures; and for checking all budget reports, monitoring expenditure and taking corrective action where necessary. Managers are accountable to the Principal and Business Manager for responsible management and monitoring of their budget.

Personnel Advisory Committee [ PAC ] Provides advice to the Principal in relation to human resource issues.
