What has remained consistent through many of my experiences-from my studies in Architecture to my work as a information designer-is the focus that I have placed on analysis and consideration of the user. My role has almost always included investigation into a problem and then a practical application, which might be producing an action plan, creating a design, or synthesizing a strategy to solve the problem. My primary focus as a designer is to produce compelling solutions through in-depth investigation and analysis into the situation or problem. To achieve this goal, I will employ both creative, societal, and technical societal.

Tokyo Protocol
Energy meets nature Date: Fall 2013 Professor: Eric Schuldenfrei
Location: Typology:
Tokyo, Japan Residential
The Tokyo protocol recalls the Kyoto protocol, when Japan pledged to reduce its own carbon footprint. Since that time, Japan has not only not reduced its footprint but it has contributed to a nuclear disaster in 2011. This studio focuses on a residential answer for high density living that is ecologically aware and can be the answer to the question of energy use.

Tokyo Protocol Housing for a new Era Date: Spring Professor:
2014 Eric
Schuldenfrei
Location: Typology:
Tokyo, Japan Residential
The second iteration of the tokyo protocol project focused on an idea of a new living style in tokyo. The way that people live will change based on housing trends in Tokyo that are changing from family living to single-resident living. This changes the way that people interact with each other in their communities and within their apartments.

Location: Ladder Street, Hong Kong Island With classmates at the University of Hong Kong, the exhibition was organized as a part of the first semester study in the architecture program. Starting with a site on Ladder street, and documenting the movement around and at the site, we produced a shelter to be used at the site. In partnership with a classmate, I created a shelter for climbing and sitting-to activate an unused ledge on a stairway.

Reinterpret Traditional Date: Fall 2013 Collaboration with: Gigi Lau, Eric Schuldenfrei
Location:
of Hong Kong
The University
As my group-mate and I started to research the issue of energy and housing in Tokyo, we stumbled upon this current conflict between current Japanese Architectural articulations and the traditional view of architecture in response to nature. This led us to create an installation which reinterpreted this traditional idea. The installation works with gradients and opacity-something very present and crucial to traditional Japanese housing.
