he Chesapeake Region of the Porsche Club of America serves it’s club members and hosts activities within the Baltimore, Annapolis and surrounding geographic area, including Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The general objectives of PCACHS are, as indicated in the by laws: Promote the highest standards of courtesy and safety on the roads. Promote the enjoyment and sharing of goodwill and fellowship engendered by owning a Porsche vehicle and engaging in such social or other events as may be agreeable to the membership. Promote the maintenance of the highest standards of operation and performance of the marquee by sharing and exchanging technical and mechanical information. Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relations with Porsche AG, Porsche Cars North America (PCNA), Porsche dealers, and other independent service sources to the end the marquee shall proper and continue to enjoy its unique leadership and position in sports car annals. Promote the interchange of ideas and suggestions with other PCA Regions throughout North America and the world, and in such corporation as may be desirable. Establish such mutually corporative relationships with other car clubs as may be desirable. Establish a community service initiative with the goal of engaging members to participate in activities that benefit the community through fundraising or volunteering of time.

ello all!!
First of all I want to thank everybody for their help, support and RSVPs. It really makes all the difference knowing that you have a strong team to back you up. Despite a rocky start to planning this New Member Party, we had a terrific turnout!!! We initially had 21 people RSVP to attend, however we quickly blew right through those numbers.
We had in attendance a count of 44 Members in total!!! 22 Current Members turned up to meet and greet 21 New Members and 1 Quest Member (who will becoming a Full Fledged Member soon!). Steve Postal and his Team at Porsche of Towson provided a wonderful bounty of bagels, donuts, and coffee from Dunkin Donuts. There were absolutely no leftovers...ha-ha. Thanks to some pre-planning I had taken my laptop with me so that I could check off registrants 12 on my roster and track New Members. This
orsche of Towson was especially awesome because I was able to walk a few folks through creating Clubregistration accounts so that they can register for future events. It also aided in my tracking of the sale of Name Badges and Grill Badges!! Thanks to the New Member Party Sale Prices, we sold 22 Name Badges and 2 Grill badges!! We took cash and check, and a few people were able to use my computer to pay via PAYPAL! We gave away 2 Porsche Parade Backpacks, Steve McQueen Posters, a PCA Logo Sign (all courtesy of Vu at National) as well as 2 Gift Certificates for Porsche of Towson @ $150 each! Manny Alban was a great MC and gave a quick spiel about the Club and running the door prize raffle with Aaron. Steve Postal followed up with a quick talk about Porsche of Towson and their
relationship with the Club. If all this wasn't enough...we actually used my computer to help 2 families JOIN PCA and Chesapeake Region at the Party!! Another family was going home to join as their VIN information was at home on their Porsche Build Sheet!!! They haven't even taken delivery of their car but couldn't wait to join us!! Background ‐‐ A Concours is a car show, during which the cars are examined by a team of judges. The cars are typically displayed by category and trophies are awarded to the highest scores. There are different levels or types of Concours. The classifications are designed to accommodate various levels of commitment, car usage, age, and originality. Beginners can enter their daily driver and learn a great deal about the history of that model and year, while making it gleam. For those who want to take it a little more seriously there are categories in which the originality of the car is considered, as well as every tiny nook and cranny of the engine compartment and undercarriage. Our program for this session will include: Introductions. Concours presentation – What is it, types, categories, judging process, PCA‐National rules, PCAChesapeake rules, preparation. How does PCA judging differ from other clubs/marques. Opportunities to compete ‐ upcoming shows: o Chesapeake Challenge – October 3rd, 2015. o Porsche Parade – 2016: Jay Peak, VT.

Steve McQueen's 1976 Porsche For a cool $1,950,000 you could have purchased Steve McQueen’s 1976 Porsche 911 Turbo. Forbes Contributor Jason Fogelson Last month, I reported on the upcoming auction of Steve McQueen’s 1976 Porsche Turbo Carrera, the last special order Porsche that the legendary movie star owned. Mecum Auctions brought the Turbo Carrera, also known by the factory designation “930,” out to the Motor Press Guild’s monthly luncheon at the Proud Bird Restaurant near Los Angeles International Airport on July 14. In conjunction with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the famous car went under the gavel at Mecum Auctions event on Saturday, August 15 in Monterey, California. Sold as Lot #71 after a round of spirited bidding, the McQueen 930 brought in $1.95 million, setting the current record for a stock 1976 Turbo Carrera. Anticipation was high for this car, which carries undisputed provenance and a well-documented chain of ownership. The ’76 has the distinction of being the last special order Porsche that McQueen ordered before his death from cancer in 1980. Collector/restorer Mike Regalia consigned the Porsche to Mecum for auction, and promised to assign a portion of the proceeds of the sale to Boys Republic, where McQueen spent time as a youth. ***

An engine sensor that controls the fuel flow had failed on the No.18 Porsche 919 Hybrid. After the first, five-second stop/go penalty, Marc Lieb engaged in a close side-by-side fight with Webber, which briefly saw the cars touching at turn two. In this comprehensive gallery we have pictures of the 2016 911 in both Targa, Cabriolet, Coupe and Turbo variations all of which will feature a number of relatively minor visual changes over their current counterparts. The front of all facelifted 911 models will be characterised by a number of changes. They will include the installation of slightly modified headlights, new horizontal slats in the air intakes which could be active in some variants as well as revised bumpers across the board. RACE/TRACK 993 $48,000 Many on Rennlist and in PCA know my 993 to be a very well developed and prepared car that is fast and forgiving. It is that rarest of racecars in that it has taken me to the podium quite a few times and, yet, it has never been wrecked. This car spent the first four years four or five years as a street car and then became a car that I drove 99% on the track. It is technically street legal since it's tagged and titled. I've actually been stopped/been given warnings by two police officers, and neither of them cited me for the loud exhaust, roll cage, etc. Lucky, I suppose.
