Hawt off the Hook with Mikey
Are you a Yarn Project Schemer?
I’m heavily influenced by what I find on the internet. I see some patterns that make me say YAY or NAY! I see some patterns that get a cheap rise out of me. But then once in a while, I am looking at the pattern and suddenly UFO lights from the ceiling appear, my fingers get jittery and a voice is saying, “You know you love it! Do it Mikey…
Do it!”
So after the euphoria of pattern lifts from me, I then have the classic scenario of an angel on my one shoulder and the devil on the other shoulder. Both are whispering sweet nothings into my ears on what I should do. The angel says… “Mikey, you have enough to do… walk away slowly and don’ look back!” The devil says… “Walk away??? The pasty freak means ‘Hook’ away! Don’t listen to that goodie two-shoes and get out your hook! Satisfy your urges to do that pattern! Do it!” The angel… “But Mikey… you don’t have the yarn in stock! Do you really want to stay up to midnight yet again trying to get this done! Think about all those valuable hours you could be getting your beauty sleep! … and trust me honey… Have you looked in the mirror lately? You need it!” The devil… “Yes he wants to stay up to midnight… That’s why they invented caffeine. Besides that’s when he can get caught up on Netflix episodes. Mikey… you know where to get more yarn don’t you?”

I have to say by this point the devil has some really good points of view. I’m falling for the internal battle of loosing my thoughts to the dark side 8 Mystery Amigurumi Clue 3 of the force. 3rd clue is out! Mystery Amigurumi This week The Crochet Crowders completing week number 3 in our mystery amigurumi project. Due to popular demand from us doing this twice in our past, we’ve brought it back again. For those unaware, the mystery is exactly as you would think. We feed crocheters components of an amigurumi project through a free pattern and video tutorial. We intentionally go out of order so that it’s harder to guess what crocheters may be doing. We have a recommendation for yarn but we don’t share what the colours ‘could’ be because it might just give it away. The randomness of the colours make for an interesting gallery at the end.
This week’s clue is:
It doesn’t look us, does it? I hope NOT!
“My stomach is like a cow but I don’t have utters” Come join the mystery, there is no sign up required. Grab your hook and play along. You will definitely learn some great stuff in this mystery!

Mystery Limbs? This week on facebook Facebook is showing up with many different ideas what the mystery might be. So far there are some good guesses. This next part of the clues is just a bigger version.....
Nope, Not antennas!
If you haven’t joined us yet, we are only on week 3 out of 4, you can still be part of the fun. We love doing these amigurumi mysteries! They are cute, unpredictable and the pictures are a hoot! Keep posting your ideas what it could be. Be creative with the photos. :)
Not sure what this arrangement is? Almost, looks like a clown. Maybe wait till the next clue?
They are not microphones Maybe they are chess pieces?
Cool looking cat?

Beginning NEXT Tuesday, September 29th, 2015, a new Crochet Along featuring a brand new pattern with Mikey will begin. Mikey will be teaching the Globetrotter Shawl as seen in the picture provided. The shawl features a technique called bruges lace and Mikey had never heard of it before being asked to do this crochet along for Yarnspirations. He learned new techniques and had a lot of fun expanding his own skills. The crochet along is one video featuring all components involved with the shawl. It’s one of the longest videos in Mikey’s video collection with over 1 Hour and 40 minutes. He left no stone un-turned so that you can be successful. Notes from Diva Dan This coming winter, I think you will be in for an awesome surprise. During the summer, both Michael and I have been planning to design two E-books of our own patterns that we both have been creating. Patterns and Projects that we think you will LOVE! My very first afghan is near in completion. I will tell you this. It is awesome! I love it so far. Still a bit a way before I will see the end results but I am lovin’ it so far. Michael also created an amazing afghan that will be released in November! Girls, this one is quite the pop of colour and style!! I am really proud of Michael for coming up with something that is colourful and cool! It is really a learning curve to create and release patterns for you to enjoy. I don’t know how many times I had to rewrite the pattern! Even Colleen, our pattern tester had her 2 cents worth! Though reading patterns and diagrams are easy for me, writing is another different story. The amount of proofing and thought can go for days, weeks to see you project completed and months before the pattern can be released.... there is a lot to decide and patience is a must. For some designers, this can take up to a year! How many bottles of wine does it take to write a pattern? I don’t know... I lost count and I think I was seeing double by the end of it. We are not sure when the release dates for our eBooks will be out but do stay tuned! I still have to gather all our ideas and finalize the content. Photos must be taken, patterns must be tested, and the list goes on. Ut uh... and possibly a trip to the liquor store to stock up so I can keep pushing through! In the meantime, we have been working hard to get a lot of tutorials out for you to get back into crocheting and to start some of your gift giving ideas for the up coming holidays. Creativ Festival is around the corner and we hope to see many of you at the show! These next two weeks, I will be continuing to work on the igloo, thank you very much for the snowflakes. I still have to diva-tize the Nutcrackers and order the yarn needed for the show and our classes. Lots to do! Cheers! Enjoy your week Diva Dan
