About Me

As an architecture student, I wish to gain technical skills that will help me anywhere within the architectural field, while maintaining a unique creativity in my work. I believe architecture is a rationalized form of art in which intentional design makes it beautiful. Thus, a building must visually communicate its intent to its audience. I also strongly believe in environmental and social sustainability. In my perspective, a building is only successful if it can provide a positive service and emotional experiences to its inhabitants, while having a minimal impact on the environment. This being said, my goal as an architecture student and future architect is to produce intentional, beautiful designs that offer a positive experiences for its inhabitants, without substantially lowering the environment’s opportunities to flourish.

The Crystalline House: A Study of Ames Main Street

This project was a study of our city’s most culture-rich street in which we were to design a combined commercial and residential building. With an emphasis on transparency and closed versus open space, this house is meant to distinctly show the contrast between public and private space while maintaining a feeling of openess.

Landing Pad:

A Study of Future Food Culture This project was a study of the food culture of Minneapolis and the current world issues of food. With its organic, flower-like form to invite people in and self-driving electric cars to bring unused food from surrounding food centers, this building is meant to be a look into the future on how the world will solve the problem of food.

A Collaborative Design Build Project This project was a study of rest and play in which eigthy-seven second year students collaborated to design a play space for both kids and adults. With our precedents of Gramazio Kohler’s Sequential Wall and Iowa State architecture’s class of 2019 two by two, our structure used a construction method of horizontally stacking wood two by fours; creating unique spaces throughout the structure. The project is installed in Ames, Iowa for a company named Reliable Street who plans to further develop the site as a cafe, art gallery, and performance space.
