Menlo Park Auto Row Plan Menlo Park, CA

The ‘Menlo Park Auto Row’ is a strip development in the City of Menlo Park, California, currently devoted to the sale, rental, and maintenance of cars. Most of this six-acre site is paved for parking. It is on land owned by Stanford University just North of the campus. The university, city, and affected businesses are discussing relocating these businesses within Menlo Park in order to build housing and offices in this area.

While interning with the Planning Department at Stanford, I worked on a series of redevelopment schemes for Community Planner Therese Brekke. I researched the zoning ordinances of the City of Menlo Park, and within the space and municipal constraints of the site, I proposed three mixed-use development schemes, incorporating residential, retail, and office uses, as well as a small park space.
