Near the village of Carron is Temple Cronan & Relics of Saint Cronan There is a small rectangular church ruin boasting many Romanesque features Including round-headed window in East gable with Corbels decorated in Animal Heads to the West There are two outdoor shrines or reliquary triangular One a gable shrine known as Saint Cronan’s Bed & locally described as burial place of Saint Cronan Close by is Tobar Chronain a simple spring holy well Encircled by a dry-stone circular Wall nestled in dramatic Burren landscape . Not forgetting wonderful Saint Brigid who has Holy Crystal Spring wells 15 of them dedicated to her situated across 11 counties of Ireland When Saint Bridgit was dying, she was attended by Saint Ninnidh On February first 525 her remains were set in a shrine & she was honoured on the High Alter of her Saint Brigid’s Cathedral in Kildare Adorned with ornaments of Silver & Gold she was revered just like Roman Minerva or Greek Athena as Saint Brigid was like a foster mother to Jesus .
