Letter From The President

I think all of us are ready for May flowers from all the April showers! We have experienced a wild rollercoaster ride of weather in April, all of which is not surprising in Ohio. I am definitely looking forward to warmer temperatures, flowers, longer evenings and the overall rebirth that spring brings to us all!

We have so many wonderful things to celebrate, one of which was our 5k for Rent! We had more than 270 registered attendees this year and BEAUTIFUL weather! The funds raised will support those in need of rental assistance…. Remarkable event! A special THANK YOU to Jordann Morgan with Fath Properties, Susan Peck with the Apartment Association Outreach, and the entire 5k for Rent Committee for all of their hard work, planning and volunteer efforts to make this such a successful event. In addition, a special THANK YOU to our event sponsors, as we all know, the success of the event would not be possible without your support of AAO.

We have our first senior event of 2023 coming up on May 12, a luncheon at Central Parkway Place, an ERS community. What a gift it is to give back to our elderly community. We are grateful for the opportunity to spend time with these wonderful individuals and hopefully brighten their day.

We have had several volunteers participate in the Childhood Food Solutions program already this year! THANK YOU! What an opportunity to prepare more than 1,000 lunches to serve those within our community who are in need. This is always an event where many board members and GCNKAA Members want to volunteer their time and utilize as a team bonding event. The families in Roll Hill and the AAO are very appreciative!

Our AAO Board has approved Rent Assistance payments totaling $43,000 through April. In addition, we have approved $35,000 to our Food Pantry partners. What a gift it is to help those in need that face challenges with housing payments and food scarcity.

Lastly, we greatly appreciate our Champions for Outreach partners, who support AAO financially. This exceptional program originated in 2021 and has continued to grow each year, allowing our board to financially contribute to so many wonderful partners that serve needs within our community: rent assistance, food pantries, senior communities, and much more!

I am continuously grateful for the service that ALL of the Board members and staff provide, as well as their continued support of utilizing our funds to help those in need. We would like to thank our entire membership, as well as our Champions for Outreach sponsors, for your continued financial support of Outreach and our efforts to help those in our community.
