MICHELLE FAUST WHERE DID THE IDEA FOR YOUR BUSINESS NAME COME FROM?

My business was born from the publication of my first book, The Lemonade Stand. It was a collaboration of 18 brilliant and empowered women who shared their stories of adversity. We choose the title based on the authors telling lemon to lemonade stories. It was an incredible experience for me to witness the healing, the confidence, the forgiveness, and the release of negative feelings. Like shedding old skin and letting a new glow shine through. That was when I knew my purpose was to create a business for women to share their stories. We are all legends of our past and experiences, so Lemonade Legend was a natural.

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH YOUR LOGO?

I have to give 100% credit and a big shoutout to my graphic designer, Aaron Tutunick. I shared some fonts I liked and we had a good idea of branding colors. The only thing I did was take the heart that was in one example and had him add it to the one I liked best. A lemon and a heart said it all. I love it!

WHAT HAS BEEN ONE OF YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS THIS PAST YEAR? Without a doubt, being interviewed by Jack Canfield. Having one on one conversation with the Chicken Soup for the Soul legend was inspiring. His stories of taking his promotion to the streets 7 days a week instilled in me that success takes work. You may write a great book, but it can't sell itself. I was thrilled to get his endorsement that The Lemonade Stand is a "very good book" and he said, "You are doing great things for people, keep it up."

WHAT IS AT THE HEART OF YOUR PASSION FOR STORYTELLING?

You are a legend of your own story. Put it out there in a big and bold way. It energizes your mind and gives clarity. It gives lightness to your soul. It puts you in an influential position to help others to heal and squash their demons. You can raise up your brothers and sisters and help them to the other side of their struggle. Write it, understand it, know in your heart what you learned from it, and it will help you define your purpose. This builds confidence, and confidence is a leading trait of leaders. If you are a leader you are an influencer. Leave your imprint on the world.

HOW DID YOUR STORY MAKE YOU A STRONGER PERSON? I was born with severe hearing loss. I struggled through life with selfdoubt and a feeling of inferiority. It's something that is with me every day and it never gets easier. But I have learned how to use my other senses to help me communicate, I read lips and body language, I am keenly aware of my surroundings and I listen very intently. I think I am a better communicator for it. When I was 37 I landed an opportunity in pharmaceuticals. It wasn't easy but for the first time in my life, I was making good money and most importantly, able to provide for my children. I was consistently a top sales performer, and I believe it was my work ethic (I always believed I had to work harder), and my focused communication that rewarded my sales efforts. After 20 years of awards and achievements, I was fired from small biotech pharma because I had aged out of the company image. It took me a long time to pick myself up after that. I jumped into the entrepreneurial world because I didn't

shapes us, develops our morals and values, teaches us work ethics, and often times defines our passion. It is through your story that you discover your purpose and your WHY. You can't begin to be successful if you don't understand your purpose or can't define your WHY. It's empowering to write and share your story. People don't buy your product or your service, they buy your WHY. Sharing your story will create believers, followers, and loyalty. Through your story, you inspire and give rise to why you do what you do. It is an important first step for entrepreneurs. DARING LEADERS | 4

IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME, WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD TELL YOURSELF? To love me. To recognize that I am uniquely imperfect and I don't need to be more. I don't need to model myself after ridiculous versions of celebrities. Be authentic and be honest. If I am not accepted for who I am then that person is not worthy of my time or energy to try and please them by presenting myself as different than who I am. I would also say, don't believe you can't do anything you set your mind to. Just because your perception of yourself isn't perfect, doesn't mean you are not gifted with talent.

WHAT WERE SOME OF YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENTS

YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED OVER THE YEARS? I have a long list of sales awards and achievements from pharma that I am very proud of. To say I am a two-time bestselling author is a dream come true. Creating Lemonade Legend and seeing its success in a short 2 years feeds my heart and soul. But, I believe it is the relationships we develop and nurture that can be our greatest achievements. My children (parenting is hard!), my husband (good marriages take work), my faith (putting God first is a commitment), and my business associates, clients and friends are all treasured relationships that I consider achievements. Life is short and it takes diligent time management to keep relationships flourishing.

WHO ARE THE MAKERS OF YOUR LEMONADE? My husband, Dean Faust, for loving me and supporting me every step of the way. Even the times when he thought I was a little crazy. My friend of 40+ years, Daryl Eckman, for picking me up out of the ashes and giving me confidence when I had none. Carey Conley, vision coach extraordinaire, pointed me in the right direction and introduced me to Angel Tuccy; my coach, mentor, and friend who is largely responsible for my skyrocket success in less than 2 years. Each of my authors from The Lemonade Stand book 1 & 2, without them there would be no Lemonade Legend. My beautiful friend Michelle DiMuria, for picking me up every time I stumbled.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM VACATION? I love to immerse myself in the culture and with the locals of any place. I appreciate the beauty of all of God's nature, be it ocean, lake, mountains, or desert. What I strive for is destressing and finding serenity and peace, with just enough adventure to make it exciting. What I don't care for is man-made tourism. However, I don't mind a little luxury and comforts in accommodations on occasion.

HOW DO YOU BALANCE WORK AND MENTAL HEALTH? That would be the people who are my lemonade makers. They make sure I know when to pull back and take a break and remind me of the importance of self-care. They make me laugh and see how unimportant the things we stress about the most are not that important. They are all faith-centered and encourage me to give it up to God because I am not the one in control. My daughters, Carolyn and Emily, for their mere presence reminds me that my most important job is being a mom. DARING LEADERS | 5

The Lemonade Stand is a treasure trove of magical and mysterious resources to build and strengthen your own spectacular virtue. Always remember there is Greatness within You." – Rita Davenport

WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO GET UP EVERY MORNING? Would it sound uninspiring if I said coffee? I do like my mornings. I don't get started early or with a bang. I ease into my day with prayers and meditation. Two cups of strong coffee and reflection on what I need to accomplish for the day. At that point, I am excited to move forward. I have a plan, I know my goals, and I know my priorities. I'm the person who once I sit down at the computer, can't pull myself away. I need to treasure my morning routine, it's my self-care time, and I put it before anything else.

YOU ARE MAKING SOME CHANGES IN YOUR PODCAST WHAT ARE THEY? Nothing dramatic. I've had some setbacks with my team and had to let a few things slide a little. I am fully operational again and want to make some changes to the podcast and level it up a bit. I am changing the name to Lemonade Life Podcast, and I will vet my guest a little more thoroughly. I want people who have a powerful message to share and a desire to change the world. Even if it is one person at a time. I'll put the word out when we are back on air and ready to offer our listeners real value for their time.

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU OFFER THAT WE DIDN'T DISCUSS?

Yes, I have a new membership program. It is ideal for people who are interested in the possibility of writing for publication. We not only walk them through writing courses and offer feedback, and suggestions, we also provide incredible business leaders who post their wisdom, skills, and talents via workshops and webinars. It's a fantastic value and an easy way to join the Lemonade Legend community. "Do you suffer writer's block or don't know where to start? Join the membership!" - Citrina
