In the era of information explosion, library is not only a place that transfer information through books, but becomes a multi functional space that ties the community together. Clifton area planning to renovate their town center and rebuild the branch library with a goal of turning it into a space that provides diversity and varies access to information, meaning transform from “bookcase� to source of information and venue of communication

first amendment center first amendment (based on Nashville, TN and DC) is going to have their multi-story branch center in cincinnati, and decided to occupy certain parts of fifh third tower as a parasitical hybridization in downtown business district. It is a organization addressing free speech and will be addressing the adaptation of existing urban structure during a time of massive downsizing.

Cincinnati has always been a foco point of the city--it is where residents and visitor gather and start their tour of the city. In another word, it is where people get their first and most important impression of the city. Among all kinds of elements the fountain in the middle play the role of urban signature and it has a unignorable influence on other ingredient around it.
Fifth third Bank Tower also share the function as the foco point of the city and a signature of old style high-rise. The facade is designed with dull colorand rectangular mass with no alternation on its shape and skin. The city obviously needs a vertical foco point same as fountain square and can carry urban texture of cincinnati
A clearer view of the relationship between fountain and Fifth Third Bank Tower . Also the view from people who are standing on the ground to the tower body is very important since it leads to the question whether the first amendment center is seen and understand by citizens and the city.

Over the Rhine Community Residency
4th year studio 20 student team, independent design
As a low income area of the city of Cincinnati, Over the Rhine is a historical district that embraced the development of the city. Due to the large amount of torn down and unuseful buildings, the program intends to create a multi-unit community housing with certain amount of unit and varies design. All unit will harbor one flat and one townhouse, with shared garden and public space in between two rows of apartment. This assignment focuses on apartment design and the maximize use of limited space.

site condition the site sits in between seitz st. and mulberry st, up on the north hill of the city. it is encircled by some devastated old building. the site sloped down from north to south with a height difference at 30ft. it is shared by the team of 10 student to design a low income community housing with common public space and independent design and life style. the design challenge lies in steep slope, tight useable land for sunlight and ventilation, also limited space for public activity and community life

camolot research & visitor center fourth year ArchMedium competition 2013
the plain-looking hill with a flattened peak on the outskirts of Soutyh Cadbury is where the castle of camlot once stood-the dark age legendary castle of king arthur. it is time to build a research and entertainment center where all the great texts paintings and documentries about medieval literature can be preserved, studied and viewed together as one living salute. that is where this visitor center comes in

This section includes projects i have participated during my employed time after graduation. Project S is a two month company summer design charrett--design and build a seating system for callison seattle in the lobby. the rest of the section are global commercial and retail project I have majorly worked on, including a commercial center in beijing and some specialty retail interior design

>> apple store apple store in qingdao, i have participated in schematic design of this project and currently I’m on the construction documentation phase. Similarly, i have been actively involved in several construction document phase of other apple retail store.
>> Nordstrom Facade Study this is a facade material and color study for nordstrom store in rideau canada. in the study we tried different gradient tone with couple set of color panel with lightbox and fin involved to create a vital exterior view for the store

Miami Univrsity has a long term cooporation with over the rhine in cincinnati and has a on-going project of design-build community renovation project. this is a spring corner store renovation project I participated in construction phase for 8 days; also I held an dual exhibition with sunny wang in spring 2013. It is a two week exhibition containing some of our finest watercolor painting
