WHAT TO DO, SEE, AND EAT WHILE VACATIONING IN MINNEAPOLIS.

Book a reservation at the Hewing Hotel – a chic new boutique hotel inspired by the North Woods of Minnesota. After you’re all settled in, head on over to the Mill District of Minneapolis. There, you’ll find the Mill City Museum, the Stone Arch Bridge, as well as the Guthrie Theater – all three offering views of the Mississippi River.

Grab some breakfast at Key’s Cafe on 9th Street downtown; it’s a classic cafe is known for its homestyle breakfast standards. After breakfast, head over to the American Swedish Institute. Affectionately known as “The Castle,” this converted mansion is home to a museum full of Nordic treasures.

Continue your Minneapolis journey by visiting The Depot for some ice skating. Lauded as one of the best skating rinks in the country — it’s located in an old train depot, hence the name. After the skating, head on over to the recently built, 10,000 sq ft Surly Brewery. Their hop-forward brews are a local favorite. For dinner, you’re going to want to check out Butcher and the Boar. Venture into neighboring Saint Paul and catch lunch at W.A. Frost in the Historic Cathedral Hill neighborhood of Saint Paul. On your way there, be sure to check out Summit Avenue – it’s one of the longest stretches of Victorian style homes in the nation. Since you’re in the vicinity, visit the any of the shops on Grand Avenue. Featuring many local boutiques as well as some chic national brands.

3 Later in the afternoon, you’ll want to visit the Como Park Conservatory - featuring lush gardens and flowering displays year-round, this is not to be missed. For dinner, you’ll want to swing by Cossetta in downtown Saint Paul. This cafeteria-style Italian restaurant is a local favorite. Want something a bit more formal?
