Global Brigades, a student organization at Temple University, sold Krispy Kreme donuts on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. When being asked what they like about Krispy Kreme, Sreynich Lay said, “That they are nice and soft.” Right outside of the Student Center, students were excited to buy just one glazed donut for $1 or a dozen for $10. Krispy Kreme locations are not close to campus, which is what makes it a good fundraiser for Global Brigades. Temple’s chapter of Global Brigades is going to Honduras in May 2017 to help build sustainable water systems and bathrooms for people in poor communities. They are going to go on a nine day brigade to immerse themselves in the culture, get to know the people of the community and work hard daily to get the job done for a good purpose. The Krispy Kreme fundraiser this week was a huge success selling 1,788 donuts. Throughout the year, Global Brigades will be having fundraisers to get money for their trip to Honduras. Every other Wednesday throughout the year, they will be selling Krispy Kreme’s donuts in the Student Center. A little help goes a long way, so please come and support them for all of the hard work that they put into.
