FIT DEFINITIONS

FORM - a snug-fitting suit similar to a wetsuit. Applies to stretch neoprene suits.

CLOSE - a trim low profile fit.

REGULAR - capable of moderate-to-heavy undergarments and holds more gas volume. LOOSE - for dives in extremely cold conditions to accommodate heavier undergarments.

PRO DRY: Made with our exclusive lightweight and flexible trilaminate material, this drysuit features a low-profile rear-entry zipper for a premium fit that minimizes restriction of the diver’s movement, while remaining an economically priced option for the recreational diver.

BARE VOCABULARY

Over the years, our technical expertise has resulted in the development of many proprietary technologies and innovations. Below you will find a list of these along with a brief description to help you better understand BARE products.

AMARA PALM - Exceptionally durable, Amara material allows us to design a very thin glove that is incredibly strong and resistant to abrasion keeping your fingers and hands well protected.

ARMOR-FLEX PROTECTION – Uses a special combination of inks that are highly abrasion-resistant and flexible.

AUTOMATIC TORSO RECOIL (ATR) - The patented ATR system provides amazing flexibility when you’re bending, kneeling and reaching upward. It works by maintaining a tucked fold in the center of the suit allowing the top and bottom to move independently of each other. This great feature eliminates the need for a cumbersome crotch strap.

AUTOMATIC TORSO X-TENSION (ATX) - The ATX includes built-in suspenders for torso length adjustment, breathability and easy donning and doffing without the restrictions of a crotch strap.

COMPRESSED-DENSITY NEOPRENE - BARE’s compressed-density neoprene uses an advanced process that alters the chemical formula during the neoprene foam manufacturing process that results in very dense neoprene foam. Although not compressed from a thicker neoprene sheet, it offers a greater degree of compression resistance than standard neoprene foam.

DIAMOND-TUFF - Found on all neoprene drysuits, it is an exterior fabric laminated to neoprene foam that is highly-abrasive and wear-resistant, extending the life of your drysuit.

DOUBLE GLUED CONSTRUCTION - Is a manufacturing technique where glue is applied to the ends of two pieces of neoprene prior to stitching them together. This reduces water penetration.

Elastek - Our premium full-stretch neoprene providing the highest degree of stretch and comfort.

GLIDESKIN - Is a special coating applied to neoprene for an easy glide-on donning and doffing experience and improved sealing reducing water circulation, and keeping you warm.

GRAPHENE OMNIRED - Graphene Omnired is placed strategically in the body’s core area of the suit. Graphene elements woven into the suit’s interior fabric allow for a lateral movement of the warmth area generated by the body to move from warm areas of the lining to cooler areas for added reflective properties to stay even warmer. Lab test have shown a 41°F (5°C) increase in temperature compared to the original Omnired technology.

HIGH-DENSITY NEOPRENE - Conventional 6mm neoprene found in our D6 HD drysuit. It provides maximum thermal protection and is enjoyed by divers who still prefer the feel and fit of a conventional neoprene suit.

HYDROSTRETCH - A full-stretch panel integrated around the circumference of the arm (where the upper arm of the drysuit underwear meets the shoulder) for improved upper mobility.

HYPER-COMPRESSED NEOPRENE - Featured in our Sentry/Guardian drysuits, 7mm neoprene foam is compressed down to 2mm through a process that uses a combination of heat, time and mechanical pressure. The extreme compression gives the material the best option for stability of buoyancy and thermal insulation with varying depths.

K-PADz - Kevlar®-like in abrasion and wear resistance, they provide a great balance between overall protection and stretch.

LUMBARE-X-TENDER - A full-stretch panel integrated into the lower lumbar area of the drysuit underwear for improved mobility.

M-PADz - Designed to work with our latest generation of supple drysuit fabrics to maintain their overall flexibility while providing the highest degree of protection.

NO STITCH TECHNOLOGY (NST) - This technology makes suits without a single seam stitch. Instead, seams are double glued and heat taped inside and out. This delivers superior performance and maximizes the life of your drysuit.

PRO DRY - A back-entry cross-shoulder drysuit with a dry zipper.

PROGRESSIVE FULL-STRETCH – Uses three different full-stretch fabrics targeted at different performance areas of the wetsuit improving overall performance.

PROTEKT - Uses a special combination of woven fabrics to provide the next generation of abrasion and wear-resistance and our highest level of stretch for unrestricted movement.

ROLLED GLIDESKIN SEALS – Is a sealing system that uses Glideskin rolled around the raw edge of the wetsuit at the wrist or ankle to provide just the right sealing for warmer water dives.

SCHOELLER® - KEPROTEC knee protection is an extremely abrasion and tear-resistant fabric. Incorporates Kevlar™ for the highest degree of protection from unwanted punctures and tears.

SEAM WELDED TECHNOLOGY (SWT) - This technology makes suits without a single seam stitch. Instead, seams are double glued and heat taped inside and out. This BARE exclusive delivers superior performance and maximizes the life of your drysuit.

SEAMLESS UNDERARMS – Eliminates seams running under the arm for improved comfort.

SECURE-LOCK - Is a process of joining neoprene on two sides (inside and out) where the stitching needle does not pass through the neoprene. This reduces the number of holes in the wetsuit and therefore less chance of water penetration. This technique also “locks” the stitching in the event that a thread is broken, not allowing it to unravel.

SET-IN SLEEVE DESIGN – Incorporates a seam around the shoulder for a closer fit around the arm for better flexibility.

S-FLEX – Developed from a proprietary blend of neoprene that generates extreme levels of stretch for an easy in, easy out of the suit, improves comfort and mobility, and is wrapped in a buttery soft exterior finish.

SKIN-IN FLIP SEALS - Located on the upper forearm or upper calf area of a wetsuit, SKIN-IN Flip Seals use the extremely effective contact between SMOOTHSKIN and skin to reduce water penetration.

SKIN-IN SEALS – Use Glideskin on the inside of the suit (usually around the neck, wrist and ankles) to provide a watertight seal against the skin.

SKIN-TO-SKIN SEALS – Is a double seal system found on the wrist or ankles where a boot or glove is sandwiched between two pieces of neoprene (one with GLIDESKIN-IN and one with Glideskin-OUT) providing an extremely effective seal, reducing water penetration.

SMOOTHSKIN - Neoprene is heat-pressed resulting in a smooth and “sticky” layer improving the seal against skin.

TECH DRY - A self-donning front entry drysuit with a dry zipper.

THERMALSKIN – Is a type of neoprene surface finish used on the inside of a layering vest which adheres well to the skin improving the seal and reducing flushing.

ULTRAWARMTH OMNIRED - 13 thermo-reactive minerals woven into the fabric of the wetsuit. These minerals react to your body heat converting it to infrared energy and reflecting it back to you, boosting circulation.
