Planning and Transition PLII130 • Prerequisite: Network and Infrastructure (NTII120) This course builds on your understanding of how the integration of devices, networks and software work to provide clinicians with a system of image acquisition, transport and archiving. The course concentrates on the business aspects of preparing to invest in, plan for and implement a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
Sustaining the Environment ENIII140 • Prerequisite: Planning and Transition (PLII130) The fourth and final course focuses on topics related to continuous improvement, safety, risk management and maintenance of the PACS. Regional image repositories and the future goal of Electronic Medical Records are discussed.

NEW Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring The Michener Institute and the Canadian Association of Neurophysiological Monitoring (CANM) have partnered to offer a one of a kind graduate certificate program towards professional accreditation in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM). Qualified IONM practitioners help prevent surgical injury that can result in deficits such as paralysis. By continuously assessing the patient’s nervous system responses, IONM practitioners can alert the surgeon to unexpected changes, allowing for timely interventions. This program will help prepare you for a career in IONM and ensure that you are ready when certification becomes a requirement for practice.
