The show featured our host, Bill Shelton, program director and videographer, Joe Yunkman, Jennie McCafferty, chief technology officer, myself, Art McCafferty and our guest, Bill Newcomb. Newcomb was just finishing up his Calderone Farms Golf Course and was excited about his latest endeavor. The show holds up pretty well after 10 years. Obviously, video is now able to be played on a bigger screen than those early days, but Joe Yunkman, our director, was able to shoot the show with two cameras and did some interesting cuts and fades in the editing of the show. Since that time, we have created an additional five channels and produced over 4,000 videos, with nearly a fourth of those shows being on Michigan golf. Viewership of our shows is in the millions, with our You Tube channel shows now at 911,427 viewers after only three years. Usually, we utilize one to two cameras on our productions, but just lately, we used seven cameras to cover the Chevron Houston P. 2

Over one of the more demanding layouts on the PGA Tour, Hicks put together rounds of 73, 68, 73 and 67 for a one-over total of 281, finishing T-17 and earning $82,650. It was only the fourth event of the year for Hicks who regained his Tour card last fall by being a Top 25 money-winner on the Nationwide Tour. He missed cuts at Torrey Pines and at Pebble Beach and had a T-67 finish in Mexico. After his lucrative third place finish at Pebble Beach last month, Michigan’s Tom Gillis has faltered the last two starts, missing cuts in Phoenix and last week. But with over $527,000 in winnings thus far, Gillis is 37th on the money list. Gillis is taking this week off while Hicks is in the field for the Puerto Rico Tour stop opposite the WGC-Cadillac event at Doral. Also, last weekend both the Golf Channel and NBC Golf devoted extensive coverage to Frank Chirkinian, the pioneering CBS Golf producer who passed away last Friday. The tributes conjured up fond memories of my exclusive inside-the-CBS-Golf-truck story with Chirkinian in August 1983. A link to that story may be found at http://www.teemoore.com

===================================================================== MICHIGAN LANDS TWO INSTRUCTORS ON GOLF MAGAZINE'S TOP 100 LIST ===================================================================== Adam Schriber and Rick Smith were the two Michigan instructors named in this year's top 100 golf teachers at Golf Magazine. Schriber, who rose to fame with Anthony Kim, is now self employed and living in TC. He formerly worked at Crystal Mountain. Smith, who was a Top 10 instructor in most of these type polls, has worked with Mickelson, Nicklaus, Janzen and is now working with John Daly. http://www.golf.com/golf/generic/0,31317,2049446,00.html ======================================================================= ISLAND RESORT CHAMPIONSHIP PRO-AM OPPORTUNITIES REMAIN...GOT MONEY? ======================================================================= The Island Resort Championship at Sweetgrass has nearly filled its sponsorship package slots, leaving Wednesday Pro-Am Sponsorship opportunities available. The announcement comes following overwhelming corporate response for the three-tiered Championship sponsorship campaign, offering groups a combination of VIP tickets, marketing, corporate hospitality, private events and golf rounds on the championship course. The Island Resort & Casino released sponsorship opportunities in early February. The LPGA Futures Tour event will be hosted at Sweegrass Golf Club in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, June 24-26. “It is evident that the corporate community both desires to play a role in the Championship’s success, and sees the value in using this professional tournament to treat employees, clients, and VIPs,” said Championship Co-Chair Tony Mancilla. “We are grateful to see such response, giving a clear message to the LPGA that our region supports the game and this event.” Tournament planning officials encourage companies to call the Championship office at 906-723-2005 to secure the few remaining spots for the June 22 Pro-Am Tournament. Sponsorship includes entry of one four-person team to the Wednesday event.

That's my goal. Bobby Jones. It's the only goal." "I guess it could be said my legacy might be that I changed an era. I came along during an era where the game of golf was more of a stylish game, and I added power to the game. I was probably the first player that played with real power and was successful. And I was able to play with finesse as well. If you look at today's player, they all play with power. So I think I took the game in a different direction." "I'm a firm believer that in the theory that people only do their best at things they truly enjoy. It is difficult to excel at something you don't enjoy." "I never went into a tournament or round of golf thinking I had to beat a certain player. I had to beat the golf course. If I prepared myself for a major, went in focused, and then beat the golf course, the rest took care of itself." "The Masters and Augusta National are and always have been very special to me. From the first time I drove up Magnolia Lane at age 19, I had a special feeling about Augusta. Even today, I get chills driving up Magnolia Lane." "Learn the fundamentals of the game and stick to them. Band-Aid remedies never last." "My ability to concentrate and work toward that goal has been my greatest asset." "The older you get the stronger the wind gets - and it's always in your face." About Jack Nicklaus Arnold Palmer, in 1962, after losing the U.S. Open to 22-year-old Nicklaus in a playoff: "Now that the big guy's out of the cage, everybody better run for cover." Bobby Jones after watching Nicklaus win the 1965 Masters: "Nicklaus played a game with which I am not familiar." Author Rick Reilly: "He was not homespun like Sam Snead, funny like Lee Trevino. His pants didn't need hitching like Palmer's. Instead, he won over America with pure, unbleached excellence." Chi Chi Rodriguez: "Jack Nicklaus is a legend in his spare time."

PATRICK'S DAY ===================================== Six retired Irishmen were playing poker in O'Leary's apartment when Paddy Murphy loses $500 on a single hand, clutches his chest, and drops dead at the table. Showing respect for their fallen brother, the other five continue playing standing up. Michael O'Connor looks around and asks, 'Oh, me boys, someone's got to tell Paddy's wife. Who will it be?' They draw straws. Paul Gallagher picks the short one. They tell him to be discreet, be gentle, don't make a bad situation any worse. 'Discreet??? I'm the most discreet Irishmen you'll ever meet. Discretion is me middle name. Leave it to me.' Gallagher goes over to Murphy's house and knocks on the door. Mrs. Murphy answers, and asks what he wants. Gallagher declares, 'Your husband just lost $500, and is afraid to come home.' 'Tell him to drop dead!', says Murphy's wife.. 'I'll go tell him.' says Gallagher. *** Into a Belfast pub comes Paddy Murphy, looking like he'd just been run over by a train.. His arm is in a sling, his nose is broken, his face is cut, and bruised, and he's walking with a limp. 'What happened to you?' asks Sean, the bartender. 'Michael O'Connor and me had a fight,' says Paddy. 'That little O'Connor,' says Sean, 'He couldn't do that to you, he must have had something in his hand.' 'That he did,' says Paddy, 'a shovel is what he had, and a terrible lickin' he gave me with it.' 'Well,' says Sean, 'you should have defended yourself. Didn't you have something in your hand?' That I did,' said Paddy, 'Mrs. O'Connor's breast, and a thing of beauty it was; but useless in a fight.' *** P. 14

An Irishman who had a little too much to drink is driving home from the city one night and, of course, his car is weaving violently all over the road. A cop pulls him over. 'So,' says the cop to the driver, 'where have ya been?' 'Why, I've been to the pub of course,' slurs the drunk. 'Well,' says the cop, 'it looks like you've had quite a few to drink this evening.' 'I did all right,' the drunk says with a smile. 'Did you know,' says the cop, standing straight, and folding his arms across his chest, 'that a few intersections back, your wife fell out of your car?' 'Oh, thank heavens,' sighs the drunk. 'for a minute there, I thought I'd gone deaf.' *** Mary Clancy goes up to Father O'Grady after his Sunday morning service, and she's in tears. He says, 'So what's bothering you, Mary my dear?' She says, 'Oh, Father, I've got terrible news. My husband passed away last night.' The priest says, 'Oh, Mary, that's terrible. Tell me, Mary, did he have any last requests?' She says, 'That he did, Father.' The priest says, 'What did he ask, Mary?' She says, 'He said, Please Mary, put down that damn gun.....' *** AND THE BEST FOR LAST . . . A drunk staggers into a Catholic Church, enters a confessional booth, sits down, but says nothing. The Priest coughs a few times to get his attention, but the drunk continues to sit there. Finally, the Priest pounds three times on the wall. The drunk mumbles, 'Ain't no use knockin, there's no paper on this side either. *** A man and his wife rushed into the dentist's office and the man told him that he needed to have a tooth pulled. He told the dentist that he had two buddies waiting to play golf and that they had a tee time in 30 minutes. He said he did not have time for the gums to numb so he wanted nothing for the pain. Just pull the tooth. The dentist was impressed with his bravery and his willingness to endure pain and asked the man "which tooth is it." The man turned to his wife and said, "Open your mouth, honey, and show him which one." M A R C H 1 1, 2 0 1 1 - M I C H I G A N G O L F E R
