There is an increasing demand on both the security and ease of operation of doors. Due to their compact construction and robust fittings, Lift-slide doors generally provide a high protection against burglary. In addition, the anti-burglary effect can be progressively increased by the use of security components such as – Handles Se, lockable – Bottom keeper and locking bolts for slit ventilation

With the meeting stile gasket Se an increased protection against burglary is achieved; robust aluminium profiles engage into one another thus preventing the door from being seperated. Thermally broken tubular threshold G.U-thermostep for timber and PVC lift-slide and lift-tilt-slide doors The thermal break of the tubular threshold G.U-thermostep considerably reduces the heat flow at the bottom of glazed lift-slide and lift-tilt-slide doors. The effect of thermal break: With normal interior air conditions – room temperature + 20° C, relative air humidity 50 % – condensation forms with a surface temperature of approximately + 9,2° C (dew point temperature). An effective thermal break will achieve with normal outside temperatures (down to - 15° C in winter) a surface temperature clearly higher than + 9,2° C. Thus the formation of condensation will be prevented, the bottom area of the door will not suffer from moisture, a sound building structure will be protected and preserved.

Tilt position During ventilation the sash is securely held open via the stay arms even with heavy wind; it is prevented against sideways movement.

Closed position The central locking system provides for the peripheral locking of the sash.

Forced control

With their driven stay arms, the fitting types mZ provide utmost ease of operation as well as secure and reliable functioning of large and heavy patio door leaves. The innovative design of the runners distinguishes itself by the soft run in curve of the cam segment allowing the end of the sash to run smoothly. Moreover, the sliding sashes move easily and accurately to any position desired. With the ergonomically shaped aluminium handle every function of the door is controlled: G.U-966/200 mZ, PVC Releasing the central lock and setting off the sash; releasing from tilt position, sliding the sash open and closed; pulling the sash closed and locking it at the same time. The turn handles come with anti-lockout device, or as lockable handle with profile cylinder for operation from one or both sides. Optimum protection against corrosion with the surface sealing ferGUard*silver

Both fitting types have driven stay arms (forced control via turn handle) pressing the sash to the frame over its total width when closing, and pushing it off the frame evenly when opening. Ideal for large and heavy sashes.

G.U-966 (PVC, timber) When being closed, the sash automatically and gently engages in tilt position. It is then secure against being moved sidewards.

The locking system oZ has non driven stay arms which from a sash rebate width of 1200 mm are connected in a way that the whole sash is pressed towards the frame evenly across its full length. The robust design of the fittings allows for the faultless functioning of smaller and medium-sized window and patio door units with the best running quality. The innovative design of the runners distinguishes itself by the soft run in curve of the cam segment allowing the end G.U-966/150 oZ, PVC of the sash to run smoothly. Moreover, the sliding sashes move easily and accurately to any position desired. All functions are controlled via turn handle operated with one hand: Release of central locking system, release of tilt position sliding the sash to and fro, pulling in and locking the sash. Lockable handles (via profile cylinder) for the operation from one or both sides are also available. Optimum protection against G.U-966/150 oZ, PVC corrosion with the surface sealing ferGUard*silver. Locking effected with standard tilt-turn locking components.

Closing pressure control On timber, PVC and aluminium units both stay arms are connected with a metal rod ensuring equal closing pressure across the whole sash width. The sash is prevented from warping.

The running rail takes up the sash weight and transmits it to the floor safely. As a result, safe functioning is provided independently of the stability of the building construction at the top â&#x20AC;&#x201C; e.g. eaves of conservatories. Folding sashes with a width up to 900 mm (timber/PVC) or 1000 mm (aluminium) and a weight up to 80 kg are manufactured from tilt-turn profiles. Provided with peripheral gaskets, the units offer high impermeability as well as optimum heat and sound insulation. Stylish appearance due to a flat guide rail and to runners concealed under a cover profile. Slide-fold units come as inward or outward opening versions, applications for 3 to 7 sash units are possible. Optimum protection against corrosion due to surface sealing ferGUard*silver.

Generous and convenient access out of doors All folding sashes are moved to the side to form a slim package: living room and garden are united to form a new living area in close touch with nature.

Optimal also for frequent use As side hung or tilt-turn sash, the passage door leaf is operated independently of the folding sashes.

Efficient ventilation All 3- to 7-sash units are equipped with a tilt-turn sash serving as passage door leaf. In secured tilt position, this sash offers an additional possibility of aeration (see overview of schemes, page 11).

Indoors, this type of fittings can optionally be used with flush floor guide, i.e. without a threshold protruding, and is therefore especially suitable for the handicapped and for wheel chair users. Folding sashes with a width up to 900 mm (timber/PVC) or 1000 mm (aluminium) and a weight up to 80 kg are manufactured from tiltturn profiles. Ceilings with high load capacity or ruggedly designed eaves allow for the stable fixing of the running rail at the top. Provided with peripheral gaskets, the units offer high impermeability as well as optimum heat and sound insulation. Applications for 3 to 7 sash units are possible. Optimum protection against corrosion due to surface sealing ferGUard*silver.

Open position Moved to the side, the folding sashes demand only little parking space and open up the interior towards garden and terrace.

Passage door leaf in open position As side hung or tilt-turn sash, the passage door leaf is operated independently of the folding sashes.

Ventilation in secured tilt position As tilt-turn type, the passage door leaf on 3- to 7-sash units offers an additional possibility of aeration in secured tilt position. (See overview of schemes, page 11).

Guides with 2 rollers provide the smooth running of the folding sashes. A stylish appearance is achieved with the flat guide rail. The folding sashes are moved with utmost ease: The 4-wheel running carriage ensures convenient operation; the small depth of the running rail contributes to the stylish appearance of the unit. Top-running carriages are concealed behind the guide rail.

Sliding sashes up to 900 mm width (timber/PVC) or up to 1000 mm (aluminium) are manufactured with tilt-turn profiles. As a result, optimum adaptation of window and patio doors units is achieved providing a harmonious appearance.

Secure fixing Guide rails and running rails are fixed to the frame with screws. On PVC units, secure fastening is achieved by turning the screws into the steel reinforcement of the profile. When assembling bottom running systems, the running rail is supported over its total length with a batten to ensure safe carrying of the sash weight.

Settings Guide rollers and runners can be adjusted to various sash overlap dimensions; this is how the fittings are adapted to the particular profile systems. Hinges join the folding sashes with each other and with the frame. The position of the sashes towards each other can be adjusted on the hinges by +/-2,5 mm per hinge. The runners are adjustable by +4/-1,5 mm.

Operation The single handed operation of G.U slide-fold units via turn handle is easy and comfortable. Lockable gears and handles for operation from both sides are available on request.

For room ventilation the sash can be slid open and lowered at any position – from a small gap to complete opening width. The recently developed slit ventilation system offers convenient room ventilation plus the extra benefit of a burglary protection feature. Elements fitted with a slit ventilation module are  locked securely even in ventilation position  tested to ENV 1627 for burglar resistance grade WK2  installable in lift-slide units G.U-934 and G.U-937 (timber and various PVC systems) with minimal effort Further features:  Ventilation grid profile made from anodised aluminium, with integral insect mesh  Sealing towards frame and threshold with optimally adapted connectors

The 2-part locking bolts lock the sash firmly also in slit ventilation position, thus protecting the room against burglary during ventilation. They are fixed through the frame into steel plates on the outside securely.

Lift-slide unit with HS-SPEED Limiter Safe operation of large and heavy elements

When a large and heavy lift-slide element is opened or closed, the sash gains momentum due to the built-up kinetic energy and can only be slowed down with difficulty. The HS-SPEED Limiter prevents the sliding sash from accelerating too fast, thus avoiding personal injury and damage to the property itself. The system is therefore especially suited for use in buildings with enhanced safety requirements such as, e.g., schools and kindergartens. The HS-SPEED Limiter is discretely concealed under a cover profile.

Windows and doors constitute the weak spots in a building unless they are fitted with adequate security components. Insufficiently secured windows and doors make it easy for unwelcome visitors to intrude into the house. Half of all burglar attempts made on window and door elements with robust security fittings are abandoned within a few minutes. Maximum use of space and living comfort Mounted flush with the floor level, the parallel slide and tilt system G.U-966/100 oZ offers extra living comfort. Not only children, the elderly, or wheelchair and walking frame users, but everyone to whom convenient living is important will appreciate passing through a patio door without tripping hazard. Naturally, this new fitting type offers all the benefits of the standard parallel slide and tilt system such as, e.g., simple one-handle operation and upgradable security with additional burglary inhibiting components.

■ Usable for all standard timber and PVC proﬁles (scheme A) ■ Unhindered passage with the low G.U threshold DKS complying with the requirements of "Accessible Dwellings" to DIN 18025. ■ Easy operation via lever handle, same operating principle as that of the standard parallel slide and tilt ﬁttings from G.U. ■ Same central locking mechanism as with all G.U parallel slide and tilt "oZ" systems.

Locking mechanisms: Parallel slide and tilt locking gear G.U-966/100 oZ bb The locking mechanism G.U-966/100 oZ bb features one-handle operation, the parallel offset of the sliding sash is 118 mm. The gears come with 15 mm backset for handle DIRIGENT [1], or as lockable gears with 25 to 50 mm backset and proﬁle cylinder bore. All locking parts are designed for a 16 mm ﬁtting groove. The locking pins of gear and corner transmission are adjustable. From sash rebate widths over 851 mm and sash rebate heights over 751 mm, additional centre locks are used. The corner transmissions are provided with rust-proof 4-leaf stainless steel springs. SRW 650-1600 mm, SRH 700-2350 mm.

Parallel slide and tilt fittings G.U-966/100 oZ bb Floor-flush parallel slide and tilt fittings with 4-wheel carriages running at the top and clamp fixed connecting rods for windows and patio doors with sash widths SW from 640 to 1600 mm, sash heights SH from 700 to 2350 mm, and sash weights up to 100 kg. Wheels consisting of deep groove ball bearings with plastic sheathing. In combination with G.U floor threshold DKS (installation height < 20 mm) ideally suited for barrier-free construction.
