North Dover Wins Cease-And-Desist On Canvassing
By Catherine Galioto TOMS RIVER – A large section of Toms River that borders Lakewood is now off limits from real estate canvassing. In what residents in the North Dover neighborhoods hope will stop aggressive real estate solicitors pursuing homeowners to sell their property, a new ordinance will keep out such tactics for five years. The ordinance creates two cease-
and-desist zones, mainly in the northwest area of Toms River, where real estate soliciting would be banned for that time, unless a resident opts-in. Ordinance Grew Out Of Complaints The move is a result of months of complaints from residents in those neighborhoods, which next resulted in an ordinance passed (Canvassing - See Page 22)

Free Events Focus On Women’s History LIBRARY EVENTS

OCEAN COUNTY – March is Women’s History Month and the Ocean County Library will recognize the achievements of women and their struggle for equality through a variety of special pro-
grams at its branches. The programs will vary from historical re-enactments to films for adults to programs designed for a younger audience. March 3 at the Stafford branch: “Rosie the Riveter” is a living history presentation sponsored by the Friends of the Stafford Library and
funded by the Horizons Speaker Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for Humanities produced by the American Historical Theatre. Rosie is a cultural icon of the United States and a symbol of (Events - See Page 22)
