By Jennifer Peacock JACKSON – The Township Council was split on an ordinance that would define conditional uses with and without Pinelands Development Credits. The zoning ordinance has to do with what is allowed to be built in certain areas of town. At the first reading of the ordinance, residents raised concerns over whether the ordinance would allow for more development in the RG-2 and RG-3 zones, some of which are in the Pinelands area, part of the Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan. “In essence it will allow less,” municipal (Ordinance - See Page 8)

NRC: Oyster Creek Had Safe Year
By Chris Lundy STAFFORD – The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said that the Oyster Creek Generating Station operated safely in the last year, during an annual meeting to address safety with the public. The band represented New Jersey in the 2017 National Memorial Day Parade, which took place at 2 p.m. on May 29, down historic Constitution Avenue, one of the city’s major east-west streets that
borders the National Mall and extends to the Capitol. This was the second time in the school’s and band’s 10-year history that the Lion Band played (Lions - See Page 4)

By Sara Grillo OCEAN COUNTY – Located in a 15,000-square foot building down a dirt path off Route 37 near Mule Road, Ocean County Hunger Relief is different than your local food pantry, thrift shop or social services network – mostly because it’s all three. Spearheaded by Carol Latif, whose motto is “the art of living comes from the heart of giving,” the organization is only limited by its resources. (Hunger - See Page 5)
