ATLANTIC CITY, NJ

Atlantic City is an ideal destination for summertime fun and adventure, says Larry Sieg, president and CEO, Visit Atlantic City. “Our seaside destination boasts five-miles of beautiful beaches, our iconic boardwalk, and a wide range of outdoor activities, including swimming, surfing, and kayaking. Atlantic City is famously recognized for its numerous casino and non-gaming properties, providing exciting entertainment for visitors of all ages.”

But the city also offers many attractions, such as museums, unique shopping outlets, and an array of dining options. With its panoramic coastal views, Atlantic City is a must-visit summer destination. “Groups can elevate their Atlantic City visit with the city’s many summertime experiences, ranging from family-friendly activities to outdoor celebrations,” says Sieg.

Bask in the sun, partake in beach activities from surfing lessons to parasailing, or spend the day at an exciting beach bar. Atlantic City Cruises is a great summer activity, too, offering exclusive tours for daily sightseeing of the city’s island and ecosystem.

"This summer, Atlantic City is welcoming a variety of new attractions and sites for groups and visitors,” Sieg notes. “Set to open Memorial Day weekend, groups can look forward to Showboat Atlantic City’s Island Waterpark, a $100-million indoor/outdoor beachfront waterpark. New and returning entertainment options continue to emerge in Atlantic City with the Adjacent Music Festival, Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival, Tidal Wave Festival, and Spiegelworld’s The Hook, the city’s first permanent live entertainment production.”

Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City boasts 21 oceanfront acres along the famed boardwalk, an array of guest rooms and suites in two historic hotel towers, world class casino action, two theaters, 10 restaurants plus a food court, lounges, bars, an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, health club and spa, salon, and retail shops. Resorts AC also is home to LandShark Bar & Grill, the only full-service bar and restaurant open all year long on the sand side of the boardwalk.

This year, Resorts is celebrating its 45th anniversary with festivities starting on May 26th, when Mayor Marty Small Sr. and actor Kelsey Grammer are set to host the annual Opening of the Sea Ceremony followed by Resorts Casino Hotel’s annual Beach Ball Drop on the boardwalk. Other anniversary celebrations include live entertainment and up to $100,000 in cash and prize giveaways.

Resorts has a jam-packed summer entertainment schedule, too, including: the NY Bee Gees (May 26); Remember Jones (June 10); The 5th Dimension (June 23); Disco Inferno (starting June 25); The Doo Wop Project (July 21); and The Blooze Brothers (August 5). AC Jokes offers a comedy club seven nights a week, or end the night with a cocktail at Resorts’ newest retro themed pop-up bar, Lounge 78.

“Disco Inferno is a ‘70s themed tribute show running every Sunday from June 25 - October 29,” explains Jamie Hoagland, director of advertising and public relations for Resorts Casino Hotel. “The tribute features an accomplished cast of singers, dancers and musicians, eye-catching costumes, and stunning choreography from the Disco era.”

Finally, Golden Girls Do Atlantic City is the area’s most popular murder mystery show. Sophia, Blanche, Rose, and Dorothy have worked long and hard to throw the perfect celebration, but will they still be celebrating when they discover that one of their party guests has murderous intentions? Be part of the fun and try to solve the mystery.
