New York City is the nation’s biggest—and most exciting—college town. Just beyond the Barnard campus, students explore an incomparable variety of restaurants, museums, music, and culture.

Through 2,500 internship opportunities, Barnard students become part of the energy of the city, working everywhere from Broadway to Wall Street, from top medical centers to the newest tech start-ups.

Barnard’s partnership with Columbia, a world-class research university, multiplies the opportunities. Students on both campuses cross-register for classes, compete on 16 NCAA Division I teams, and tap into the resources of 30+ libraries and collections.

Inspired and mentored by teacher-scholars, Barnard students pursue their passion for learning and find new ways of seeing the world and their role in changing it. Independent thought is welcomed; original work is encouraged.

Barnard’s culture inspires women to reach for, and achieve, the extraordinary. From nearly 50 states and more than 50 countries, students create a strong sisterhood where they grow in confidence and leadership.
