End Zone to Host Mid-Maine Chamber BAH Are you looking for a family friendly, casual dining experience in central Maine? The End Zone sports bar and grill is the place to go! The Menoudarakos family opened in the former location of “The Roost” on the corner of Western Avenue and Elm Streets in Waterville in 2013 and have fully renovated the facility and created an entirely new menu to include authentic homemade Greek dishes in addition to delicious pizza, burgers and wings. The atmosphere is relaxed and the walls are lined with New England sports memorabilia and photos. You can catch your favorite sporting event on one of the many strategically placed flat screen TVs. In the warmer months, the rooftop deck provides a dining and social experience like no other in central Maine. Inside and out, the wait staff at the End Zone is second to none. In addition to the dining and spirits, The End Zone also offers a variety of entertainment throughout the week. Monday nights are “Trivia Night” with Jim Smith. Tuesday nights are “Open Mic Night” for local artists, young and old, to showcase their talents. Wednesday nights are 25 cent wings night, and every Friday night you are treated to the sounds of local musicians. To cap off the week, join your friends on Sunday to watch your favorite sporting event and savor the flavors of their famous wings at half price. In addition to The End Zone, Rita Menoudarakos, who has been in the restaurant and catering business for over 20 years, purchased the former Flo’s Flowercart building on Main Street in Waterville and established Rita’s Catering Company. The facility seats up to 125 guests (270 for a standing function) and offers full catering and bar services. The beautifully appointed antique building is perfect for business meetings, wedding receptions and family gatherings. There are also other smaller “break-out” rooms for a more intimate setting or private parties. Please join us on April 22nd at 26 Elm Street, Waterville from 5:30 to 7:00 PM as we host a Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours. Enjoy a selection of hors d’oeuvres and drink specials. Door prizes will be provided, including a $100 End Zone Gift Card and a free room rental from Rita’s Catering Company (a $150 value). Check it out on Facebook or call 861-8000.

MaineGeneral welcomes business community to Thayer Center for Health - March 18

MaineGeneral again opens its doors to the public to view the renovations that transformed the Thayer Center for Health into the largest, most comprehensive outpatient center in Maine. As host to the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce’s March 18 Business After Hours, MaineGeneral looks forward to celebrating the achievement of Thayer’s transformation with the business community. The $16 million Thayer project is the capstone of MaineGeneral’s effort to ensure health care services are available for generations to come in the Kennebec Valley.

“We’ve kept our promise of providing high-quality services across our system in a way that is more convenient to patients,” said MaineGeneral Health CEO Chuck Hays. “Thayer has a full range of outpatient services, including primary care, imaging, lab, day surgery, specialty services and emergency care all under one roof.” About 1,000 people are seen each day at the facility. Enhancements include a new main entrance and waiting area, convenient access to lab and imaging and improved parking. In addition, many services that were once scattered in the greater Waterville area are now in the same building.

“The vast majority of care you receive over your lifetime is provided as outpatient services,” Hays said. “As health care technology continues to improve, even more services will be available on an outpatient basis. The renovated Thayer Center for Health brings more of what you need for your health care to you, right here in your community. What hasn’t changed in the great tradition of Thayer is that the quality of care continues to be exceptional, personal and with the compassion you and your family deserve.”
