01 HISTORY OF WASTE
NEW YORK The History of the City is very complex and often difficult. The map presented on this page shows how much of the city is „man-made” and how the borders has changes. History shows that New York was struggling with the waste problem from the beginning. Before 1950s the main method of waste disposal was ocean dumping. Although this solution has its terrible results for the marine environment it allowed to create artificial land witch increased the size of Manhattan. Now also every neighborhood produces waste. End of use is a stage of the every product lifecycle. Part of life. But what is going to happen if we are continue to produce so much waste and will not develop new strategies for proper collection and disposal system ?

OBSERVATION
Our team observed each location in New York and discovered what people have overlooked. Since society is not supportive enough to clean our environment, the areas are not equipped with enough garbage cans. Manhattan areas were cleaner than Queens and Brooklyn. However, there were more overflows of garbage than we expected. They were moved to the corners, thrown in the middle of the street, and dropped by the trees. Also, there were many disposable masks due to the coronavirus, and historically, this 2021 will be the most common sight of such a mask falling.

03 FOOD CONTAMINATION What is natural and what is atrificial ? In todays world more and more products are packed with the microplastics, pesticided and artificial additives. How does it influence our health and lifestyle ?
It’s possible that
ingesting microplastics could furtherexpose us to chemicals found in some plastics. These chemicals have been linked to a variety of health problems, including reproductive harm and obesity, plus issues such as organ problems and developmental delays in children.
