YOUTH STORY WORKSHOP

Tuesdays, October 5–26 • 1:30 PM West Chester • Storytime Room At our family workshops, kids ages 3 and up and their grown-ups will learn valuable storytelling and early literacy skills, hear a book, and have a chance to tell their own stories!

ABC CLUB

Wednesdays, October 6–27 10:15 AM & 1:30 PM West Chester • Storytime Room Welcome to the ABC Club! Children ages 3-5 and their grown ups will explore the alphabet (numbers and colors, too!) through books and related activities.

IMAGINE THAT...YOU ARE A BUILDER

October 6 • 10:30 AM Middletown • Storytime Room In this Kindergarten prep program, children ages 4-5 will learn to work together to meet a common goal. This month we will follow directions to make a building for the library’s stuffed animals.

WALK WITH WILL HILLENBRAND: CELEBRATING ONE YEAR OF THE MIDPOINTE LIBRARY SYSTEM STORYWALK IN FORT LIBERTY PLAYLAND

October 7 • 11:30 AM Fort Liberty Playland Best-selling author Will Hillenbrand is coming to celebrate the oneyear anniversary of the Fort Liberty Storywalk®! All ages will be delighted as Will shares his story, featured Storywalk book, “Sneeze, Big Bear, Sneeze.” The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

MUSIC AND MOVEMENT

October 16 • 2:00 PM Middletown • Community Room We’re turning off the lights and breaking out the glow sticks! Join us for games and friendly competition. Participants are encouraged to wear white or black-light reactive clothing.

HALLOWEEN DOOR HANGER CRAFTIVITY

October 18 • 5:30 PM Trenton • Community Room Join us to paint Halloween hangers. Space limited to first 20 participants.

PRE-SCHOOL CRAFT CLUB

October 20 • 10:30 AM Middletown • Storytime Room Let’s make some art together! Children will practice using basic craft tools (glue sticks, safety scissors, crayons) and they will take home a completed project.

LITTLE TRAVELERS

October 27 • 10:30 AM Middletown • Storytime Room Let’s travel the world without leaving the library! This month we’re learning about Greece; how kids play, speak, dress, eat, and more. In this hands-on program we will learn how alike we all are, despite our differences.

TEENS WRITE

October 6 • 4:00 PM Trenton • Community Room Tweens and teens who write or want to learn more about creative writing, come meet other writers, share ideas and get tips from popular young adult authors. Writers of all skill levels and genres are welcome.

TEEN CRAFT HOUR

October 7 • 3:30 PM Middletown • Board Room Stop by after school to flex your creative muscles with a new craft every month! This month, we will be working with the artistic technique of collage. Supplies will be provided.

DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS FOR TEENS

October 9 • 2:00 PM Middletown • Conference Room B Join us as we delve into a one-shot adventure of D&D. The group will battle monsters and solve puzzles as they search for hidden treasure. Pre-made player characters will be provided. All levels of experience are welcome!

MANGA BOOK CLUB

PUMPKIN FUN!

October 28 • 6:30 PM West Chester • Storytime Room Kindergarteners through second graders will be using science and art to enjoy and expand their knowledge of pumpkins! Space is limited to the first 15 children.

HALLOWEEN MINUTE TO WIN IT

October 30 • 2:00 & 3:00 PM West Chester • Community Room A/B Third through fifth graders are invited to participate in Halloween Minute to Win It challenges. Space is limited to the first 20 children.

October 13 • 10:30 AM Middletown • Community Room Join us for some lively tunes as we practice our coordination and rhythm! We will use shakers and scarves, and everyone can dance and sing along in this 30 minute program.

October 13 • 4:00 PM Trenton • Community Room Love manga? Share what you’re reading and learn what new manga is at the library while enjoying ramen and hanging out with other fans.

ANIME AND MANGA CLUB

October 14 • 3:30 PM Middletown • Board Room Are you a fan of anime and manga? Once a month, come to the library to geek out about what you’re reading and watching! Each meeting we’ll discuss titles, make and share some art, and watch some anime!

We’ll teach you the basics and present new patterns each session. Your completed project will look like a work of art! No experience is necessary and supplies will be provided.
