WELCOME CLEVELAND CO-LABS

MidTown is unlike any other neighborhood in Cleveland. Our workers turn out an array of products three shifts a day. Our startups teach, code, and create. Our venues thrill thousands each year. Our nonprofits support families and advance the region’s economy. Our transit line is a national model. Our food reflects our rich range of cultures. Our living options cover the full spectrum, from affordable housing to luxury townhomes. Our history — of innovation, of creativity, of diversity — is on display in everything we do. MidTown defies easy categorization. So when MidTown

MIDTOWN IS HOME TO NEARLY 2,000 RESIDENTS, and MidTown Cleveland, Inc. is working — for the first time — to engage their voices in shaping the area's future. Longtime residents Ron and Maria Fuqua have witnessed the evolution of a neighborhood. Tucked away between Chester and Euclid on 75th Street is the Inglewood Historic District, the smallest historic district in Cuyahoga County. The Fuquas established the district and live in a wooden framed home designed by Charles Schweinfurth, the architect who built the Mather Mansion and Trinity Cathedral. “When we bought our home in 1991, we were so excited about our historic home and wanted East 75th Street to be the gateway to MidTown,” said Ron. Over the years, the Fuquas have put their heart and soul into preserving the homes on the street. “For the first time, MidTown Cleveland, Inc. has engaged us to talk about the future of our neighborhood and the potential that’s here."

RON FUQUA, MIDTOWN RESIDENT

We see a place to live on East 75th but we also see a place where people can come together and experience the historic nature of MidTown.

Creating Place

Turning MidTown into a Hometown In 2013, MidTown Cleveland, Inc. commissioned a study that identified demand for at least 200 new units of housing — four years later, we have nearly reached that number with the residential projects in our pipeline. In addition, a forthcoming hotel and a range of streetscape improvements will further round out the neighborhood.

One MidTown Boston-based Vazza Real Estate Group recently broke ground on One MidTown, a 23-unit modern luxury townhome project on Euclid Avenue and East 73rd Street. Designed by Dimit Architects, the townhomes will take advantage of their location in the heart of ONE MIDTOWN

the Health-Tech Corridor. “In our hometown, we have seen positive growth in health and tech districts. We see a lot of similarities in MidTown," said Derek Holt of Vazza. "We are convinced that within five years it will be a completely different neighborhood.”

A Story of Growth & Momentum This past year, the Health-Tech Corridor Attraction Fund, a partnership between JumpStart, Inc. and the HTC, made its first investments to attract new tech companies to MidTown — the latest news in the longrunning narrative about the area’s reputation for fueling creativity and innovation. The fund, seeded by the City of Cleveland, Cleveland Foundation, and Ohio's Third Frontier invested $250,000 to attract Monarch Teaching Technologies, Inc., the maker of the VizZle special education teaching software, and $250,000 to bring Employstream, a cloud-based hiring
