ALBANY’S HISTORIC CAROUSEL AND MUSEUM The carousel project began in 2002. Carving officially started on June 7, 2003. This project is estimated to take 10 to 15 years to complete. All work is being done by hand with volunteers of all skill levels. No experience is necessary and all volunteers are welcomed. Volunteers are needed for all phases of the project, including carvers, painters,
sanders, fundraisers, organizers and people willing to help with restoring the 1909 mechanism. There will be a menagerie of animials, totalling more than 54, all hand carved and hand painted in the traditional style of Dentzel and Muller. FREE SUMMER MEAL PROGRAM Once again, the Corvallis School District Food Service Department will offer free meals at designated sites around Corvallis, Philomath and Adair Village. WILLAMETTE CHILDREN’S THEATER Musical theater immersion program. Culminates with three shows at the theater. Students will perform an original musical written for WCT.
