AV tech trends for 2022
It comes as no surprise that many 2022 predicted AV trends are a direct result of the pandemic. Although we have all experienced struggles during the pandemic, there have been lots of positives emerging in the AV industry.
“What we are seeing now and because of the pandemic, people have looked at where there is going to be some growth opportunities and they’ve gone and developed products in that area.” – Jenny Hicks, Head of Technology.
TOP 5 AV TRENDS FOR 2022
o Brand Spreading o Customised Resolutions o App Technology o The Super Experience o The BIG Upgrade
By many brands following the idea of creating products to suit post-pandemic life, it enables customers to be satisfied with the one brand they trust and their ‘one point of contact.’ This is what Hicks identifies as Brand Spreading. Not only will these brands develop new concepts but also will result in more adaptable solutions for the office such as meeting and conferencing rooms.
These adaptable solutions correlate to the trend of Customised Resolutions which allows for larger screens and canvases that are not restricted to ‘what sizes do you have?’ but for the optimum size and resolution space in your office.
This accentuates the idea of restricted sizes lifting from normal computer screens to extend into larger spaces.
Hicks identifies that we will see more development and progression in App Technology. Society learnt to control their surroundings via personal devices. QR codes were scanned to access venues, contactless payments were encouraged, and even in-store shopping and dining adopted placing orders online, “we saw a big adoption of moving control that was previously on a communal touchscreen over to your own mobile device”. Hicks poses the question; will apps be integral to the AV industry in 2022?
““It doesn’t need to be in a set 16 by 9 ratio... those restrictions I think we’re going to start to see move” says Jenny Hicks.

Chris Neto introduced us to the idea of The Super Experience, where individuals are now going to expect bigger and better things from AV. They want an ultimate memorable experience once everything returns from the pandemic, ‘things have not been 100% back…people are going to pay for that’ he says. This is a trend we have seen in recent times with larger customisable displays and integrated systems.
The next level, high-end laptop upgrades will become an expectation in The BIG Upgrade. The workforce’s shift in mobility means more employees are working away from their desks and working where they want. A robust solution is a necessity to enable this age of working.
“There is now going to be a focus on mobility and a focus on the quality mobile tech that is being sent out” says Neto.“ Whereas previously mobile solutions were acceptably less powerful, companies will demand more from their technology. Companies need to offer equality by providing office-based workers and agile workers the same level of quality solutions.
