A look back at Tech Xpo 2022
Tech Xpo returned with a bang in October. After missing a couple of years due to the pandemic, the Midwich team was more excited than ever to get back to Ascot and interact with customers, vendors, integrators and end-users alike. And what a triumph it was! Hundreds of people walked through the doors over the two days, new products were demonstrated in the UK for the first time, and brilliant feedback was received.
Missed the opportunity? Let’s recap!
The Samsung Wall All-in-One stole the show and generated a lot of traction. The new and improved display was designed to make LED more accessible and easier to install and design. And it has! The all-in-one display can be installed in two hours and there are no specialist installation skills necessary. Plus, the sheer size and quality of the display is immense, and that’s saying something in a huge location like Ascot!
The Samsung stand was also popular after a long day. Customers could order themselves a beer using the Samsung Kiosk – a great tactic (or bribe) to get people to interact with the tech on show. The networking stand also showcased the racing SIM and Samsung Flip. The LG stand was full of vibrant colour and opportunity. Designed to take customers on a journey, different displays for different verticals were showcased throughout. The main focus point was the 136” All-in-One LED display – it’s even more impressive in real life. The key message for LG was to show customers that they are a leader in innovation. Do you think they succeeded? We do.
Also on display for the first time in the UK was the 22XE1J-B outdoor display which received great feedback. During the event, LG and a leading mounting brand discussed a new opportunity so watch this space! While Tech Xpo is a great opportunity to get in front of customers, it’s also a way to collaborate with peers.
One of the reasons Tech Xpo 2022 was so special is the number of new exhibitors! One of which was Biamp, a headline sponsor no less. Focusing on collaboration solutions, Biamp took control of the event and showcased Parlé Conferencing bars, Impera and Apprimo control, Vidi Cameras and Modena Hub Wireless Presentation.
One of the most popular spaces of the event was Biamp’s demonstration boxes. The new Audio Intelligence Noise Reduction technology was demonstrated between two boxes to immerse customers in the magic. The first UK showing of the Parlé VBC 2500 Conferencing Video Bar was received equally as well. With no competition on the market yet for Biamp’s control products, no wonder it was so popular.
For Mersive, live events are the key to success. Video calls just don’t have the same effect when showcasing the Solstice Conference. Tech Xpo enabled customers to physically see the integration and how the user journey looks for the end-user, creating a better understanding of how Mersive products can benefit customers. Whether you’ve been in the industry for one year or twenty years, there is always more to learn and more projects to uncover. And Mersive were keen to present a roadmap, showing customers what the plan is for the future. Absen has been busy expanding its European team and Tech Xpo was a great excuse to get everyone together. They were well received – meeting many new customers and integrators interested in the new LED technology on display. Virtual production and gearing up for the busy rental period were big topics of conversation that see no sign of slowing down. A huge highlight for Absen was supporting the charity cycle and watching the cyclists cross the finish line.
Due to the nature of SMART interactive displays, getting hands-on with the products at events is valuable. Tech Xpo allowed customers to experience the quirky tactile products such as Teamwork and Tool Explorer – something that wouldn’t have happened over the phone. The entire channel team was in attendance, generating a huge buzz. Plus, the pick & mix stand went down a storm! The leading brand in the projection market, Epson bought a host of high-end projectors to demonstrate at Tech Xpo. The wow factor being the EB-PU2120W, the world’s smallest and lightest 20,000-lumen projector currently available on the market. The super-bright laser projector is ideal for live events and staging applications. Customers discovered its power close-up and could bask in the light of Epson.
