Infiltrated members of the Israeli security forces detain a Palestinian stone thrower and aim their weapons at fellow protesters during clashes near the Jewish settlement of Beit El, close to the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah. Violence intensified in Jerusalem and the West Bank this week after Israelis were targeted in stabbing attacks, a Palestinian boy was killed in a clash with Israeli troops and five more Palestinians were shot dead protesting at the border fence.

Social media is taken a bigger role in life than ever before. The Dutch spent approximately 33,5 hours online per month. But what is there to see online? Is it valuable content or just nonsense? I analyzed the news photographs and took one component of it and searched what social media has to say about this particular part. This often leads to big contradictions in the amount of posts. As seen on the front-page one guy is wearing Nikes. I took Nikes as comparison. It turned out that there is way more content online about Nike than about the violence in Jerusalem.
