Years later, his professional career The selection that is offered now includes some of the best elements he has made, according to his son, and within what has been collected, since the work of Santiago Calvo is "very distributed." For this purpose funds have been used from the private family collection and also from some other private individual. On the figure of his father, Óscar Santiago emphasized the fineness and level of detail that he was able to print on the glass. According to his words, constancy is one of the keys to a trade in which you have to "put in many hours". He also stressed the importance of "being able to draw very well". In that sense, the engraverengraver also remarked that Joaquin Santiago "had a great facility" to capture what he wanted "exactly where he had to do it" depending on the piece. Thus, he was able to select the ideal space to record on a glass or on a champagne, "by the shape or

In 1985, when closing this last factory, Santiago Calvo decides to install his own workshop in the small town Segovia of Pinillos de Polendos, where is his wife, Pilar. There he found a place where to begin a new vital stage and the most creative of his work. Generally, this period coincides with a stagnation of the trade and the closure of a number of glass factories. Meanwhile, the relay of Joaquín Santiago Calvo is insured with his two children, Joaquín and Óscar, who learned from him this craftsmanship. Joaquín is a master of carving at the Royal Crystal Factory of La Granja and Oscar continues his work at the parental workshop. EXPLAINEDLY KNOWN The youngest son has assured that "all" carvers and engravers in Spain over 50 years of age know the figure of his father. And if there is one left to know about her, she has the opportunity to "be astonished" when contemplating the pieces that the exhibition brings together, because "really in Spain there has not been anyone at the level of the engravings I made". Such was the skill of Joaquin Santiago who was able to record on the glass of a light bulb. The show can be visited until March 15, 2017 and Oscar Santiago has added that it is something that "has not been seen in Spain and will not be seen again", so he has invited to travel to " See closely "what the trade is and thus" value it a little more ". I am fascinated that in a society that does not give value to older people, it is just the Grandmothers who try to heal wounds by recovering the stolen identity of the young children of the disappeared. Loreto Foeldes is an artist with a long history who, after working in different areas of design, brings her knowledge to the creation of works through the exploration of different techniques. First it began with clay and then developed in vitrofusion and vitromodelado. Then he experimented with different techniques of working in glass to get to the vitrotermomoldeado, the one that works with metals and pigments. "Working the glass produces wonderful sensations. Sales reached 592 million euros, with a slight drop of 1.8%, but Ebitda rose 6.6% to 129 million. The company also reduced its debt by 21% and increased its earnings per share by 16%.

"In addition, we see that the market is reflecting a recovery of prices slower than expected," they said. Indeed, glass prices, which are generally traded at the end of the year for the following year - and which have two essential components, inflation and the price of crude oil, due to the intensive energy consumption of the furnaces - are the key To understand what is happening in that sector in Europe.
Growth on the basis of buying other companies has been constant, both in the Spanish case and in the other players: in the last two years, 40% of the world market has changed hands.
In the last three years, price declines have exceeded 5%. Nonetheless, the UK is the only European market to have experienced positive growth in packaging sales since 2008. Partly because more and more bulk wine is imported from South America, South Africa and Australia to be packaged in the British Isles.

On the other hand, customers are also in that race to concentrate their purchasing power. The most recent case is the merger of Ab InBev and SabMiller, the beer giants. 37% of Vidrala's production is wine bottles, and 24% for beer, with customers such as Diageo, Heineken, Carlsberg or Mahou. "We see this concentration as an opportunity, insofar as it will consolidate commercial relations of great volume of sale on customers who bet on the premium product. It's true that larger customers will have a greater ability to consolidate competitive long-term business relationships, and that's partly what we're looking for. " On the side of the threats is the rise of other types of products in plastic, cardboard or metal. This week, the Plastic Technological Institute (Aimplas) pointed out that the production of food containers in this material has increased 30% in six years. In favor of glass plays a variable: preserves food, is a recyclable material infinite times (60% of the bottles are reused in Spain) and reduces the losses. In addition, it is not easy for new rivals to emerge because they need a long maturation period and the initial investment in ovens is high (between 15 and 30 million, and have a life of between 10 and 12 years). Although the glass has drawbacks: the high energy consumption and the weight of the bottles, which makes transportation expensive.

sector of the molten glass.
Juan de Goyeneche and Gastón created a factory dedicated to the molten glass ex nov, from there, they began to build houses to give residence to the workers of the factory.
The problem arose when European producers decided to lower the price of the product compared to the one offered by the Goyeneche factory.
The main source of energy for the operation of the factory were the holly, since they were very existent by this zone.
For this reason, Goyeneche had to slow down the production and store all the products in the warehouse of glasses that had Alcála Street, nowadays the Real Academia de San Fernando. Until competition, together with the scarcity of raw materials and energy sources, Nuevo Baztán is very considered led to the bankruptcy of the among designers and architects factory and consequently the for a particularity in its urban decline of the population of the model. municipality. These constructions were made from the contiguous municipality called Villa de la Olmeda, but Juan de Goyeneche, owner and founder of the factory, decided to baptize this small set of houses as the town where he was born: Baztán in Navarra.
It is designed in orthogonal reticulum, that is, the streets form right angles creating rectangular apples. One of the most famous architects, Fernando Chueca Goitia, dedicated in his book "Example of baroque urbanism castizo" a few pages to the municipality as far as the outline of the city. Traces like the one of San Fernando de Henares are copies made of the one of New Baztán, that served as example for more municipalities of the Community of Madrid.
At present, Nuevo Baztán is formed by the old part that agglutinates the majority of its Artistic and Cultural Patrimony and by neighboring urbanizations like Eurovillas or the Mirador del Baztán that provided a greater number of neighbors and greater economic and commercial activity to the Madrilenian municipality.

In addition, Nuevo Baztán consists of the Plaza de la Iglesia which is also part of the binomial formed of Palace and Church as a Property of Cultural Interest. As curiosity, in the center of the square is located the Source of Tritones, so named for having as decoration three centaurs. It also has the Plaza de las Fiestas, popularly known as the Plaza de Toros because it celebrates bullfights. And the Market Square or as they call it Plaza del Secreto, perhaps one of the most picturesque in the municipality. In its beginnings it houses the market that supplied to the city and was the main commercial nucleus. Between its celebrations it emphasizes considerably the celebrations dedicated to the Foundation of New Baztán in honor to Juan de Goyeneche that are celebrated the 9 of October. But, undoubtedly, the key party of Nuevo Baztán is 'La Javierada' which is celebrated on the second Sunday of March in honor of Navarre, as it owes its name to that region.
Among its Heritage, the Palace of Juan de Goyeneche stands out. It was the house of the founder of the factory, is built with limestone and is attached to Like the 3 of December is celebrated San Francisco Javier, the Church of San Francisco day of the Pattern of New Baztan. Javier.
