Denji Takeuchi is one of the oldest Japanese artists New Kyohei Fujita Glass with -artist pioneer and enormous influence in his country, and like him, active promoter of this movement in Japan, which has also developed an important teaching.

Over several decades Denji Takeuchi has held various positions in the Association of Artisans of glass Japan, next to Fujita, often traveling as a Japanese representative worldwide.

Born in 1960 in Hampshire, England, Richard benefits from the high degree of freedom it gave her parents during her childhood.

Under the tutelage of Richard Meitner and Mieke Groot, he was able to explore the many possibilities of glass as an expressive medium.

His fascination with glass as an art form began at age 18 when he inadvertently discovered a glass furnace in the local art school.

Richard spent the next ten years working for the best glassblowers in Italy and in France, enjoying the opportunity to learn from the highest authorities in the field and perfect their own emerging techniques until they became a master craftsman in casting techniques (glass paste) and blowing.

After graduating with a degree in Art and Design in 1982, Richard disposed of his freedom again quickly moved to Amsterdam to study at the prestigious Gerrit Rietveld Academy.



Since 1990, Richard has traveled to Thailand and has often enjoyed its people, culture and customs.

His reverence for the country is so great that now spends at least three months a year there, seeing it as their spiritual home.

As an expatriate British origin who divides his time between life and work in Amsterdam and Thailand, it is in a unique position to discern the characteristics of this illusion of freedom and then represent in his work.

In the sixteenth century, the economic value of a piece of glass was much higher than a painting.
