Smart Topaz

SMART TOPAZ is an outstanding young stallion that came from the 6666’s Ranch of Guthrie, Texas. He was hands down their top colt of 2015 and we feel very fortunate to own him. We have ridden “Topaz” on the ranch, he is extremely athletic, very willing and cowy.

His sire, WR THIS CATS SMART, is one of High Brow Cats top sons. He has won $236,514 in cutting and was the NCHA Open Finals Champion. His offspring have earnings of over $17 million. WR THIS CATS SMART is the number two all-time sire in NRCHA, and the number three all-time ranch horse sire. He is a very versatile sire and you are now seeing a lot in the roping pen. His mother, PADDYS TOPAZ is one of the 6666’s top mares. She is the granddaughter of the great mare CASEY’S LOVELADY, inducted into the 2017 AQHA Hall of Fame. She is the mother to their new stallion, JESSES TOPAZ, one of the truly great young sires of the breed. SMART TOPAZ has become very popular with our customers here at Weaver Quarter Horses. He sires colts with a lot of bone and size, plus his good looks and athleticism. He himself has tremendous bone and size (he measured 15.3 hands on his 3rd birthday). His offspring are winning in the NRCHA and roping pens. I look forward to this year’s colt crop getting out and performing. We have his daughters in production now, and there are some colts out of them in the sale this year. We are excited to see what they will bring to our program. We are expecting great things from this young sire. All offspring eligible for the Riata Buckle. 5 Panel N/N

Genuinely Busy

GENUINELY BUSY is a really well-muscled, good looking son of TUF N BUSY. He is that pretty golden buckskin color. We purchased GENUINELY BUSY from Terri White and she was also the owner of TUF N BUSY. This was the colt she kept to replace TUF N BUSY, and we feel very fortunate to be able to own a horse of this caliber. It just doesn’t get any better - not only does he have a great cow horse pedigree, he also has the color, looks and ability to back it up.

GENUINELY BUSY is an own son of TUF N BUSY and TUF N BUSY’s offspring have won over 3,740 AQHA points, 27 ROM winners, mostly in roping events; and he has sired 46 point earners out of 236 foals sired. Plus, they have won at all levels of roping from Amateur to PRCA with earnings in NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA.

GENUINE LEIGH WRIGHT was an outstanding calf roping horse and was hauled in the PRCA. She is an own daughter of LENA’S WRIGHT ON. He has a LTE of $109,995 and won the NRHA futurity as a three-year-old and was an AQHA World Champion Working Cow Horse as a five-yearold. He is the sire of NRHA and NRCHA money earners as well as an AQHA Champion. This is our 12th crop by GENUINELY BUSY. We are extremely proud of how his colts are breaking out and riding. Everyone that rides a “RICKY” colt loves their attitude and easyto-get-along with demeanor. We get a lot of repeat buyers with the GENUINELY BUSY colts, just like we did with the IMA TUF LENA colts. That says a lot for the TUF N BUSY bloodlines. His colts are really starting to excel in the roping pen. I couldn’t be happier with “RICKY” He sires colts with a lot of cow, athletic ability but most of all, they are extremely good minded and very trainable for any venue. His daughters are just coming into production and I am very pleased with their colts. We have excellent frozen semen available on GENUINELY BUSY, and his offspring are eligible for the Riata Buckle. 5 Panel N/N

Bet Hesa Echo Cat

I am really high on this horse, he possesses a lot of the qualities I like to see in a stallion. He is extremely athletic, very cowy, and has that want to please attitude. We are really pleased with his colts, they possess his athletic ability and have been extremely good to work with. “Charlie” sires colts with extremely good bone and size. Their quiet demeanor and want-to-please attitude are making them very popular. BET HESA ECHO CAT is a colt we bought at the 2018 NRCHA Futurity Sale, and is a big, strong red roan stallion by BET HESA CAT. BET HESA CAT is one of the hottest Snaffle Bit Futurity sires going today and this colt is also out of an own daughter of NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Champion BOONLIGHT DANCER.

Sire of offspring with earnings in excess of $7 million. His mother ECHO NTHE BOONLIGHT is a NCHA money earner and a daughter of BOONLIGHT DANCER, LTE $136,236, 2001 NRCHA World Champion Open Snaffle Bit Futurity, with offspring earnings of $1.5 million. We are excited for what this colt brings to our program with his great working cow horse pedigree. I am really proud of this set of colts by BET HESA ECHO CAT, I know you will like them. His colts just get better each year. 5 Panel N/N

One Gun At A Time

A well-bred cow horse pedigreed stud we bought from Wagonhound Ranch of Douglas, Wyoming. An own son of the $21.7 million dollar sire ONE TIME PEPTO, has accumulated winnings of $331,096 and won the 2005 Super Stakes Open Championship and the 2006 Augusta 5/6 year-old Open Classic Championship and the 2006 Abilene Spectacular Open Classic Championship among others. ONE TIME PEPTO is the number one sire of Reined Cow Horses and the number five sire of Cutting Horses. The mare family is outstanding. Dustin Ewing will tell you that PLAYGUNS MELODY is Wagonhound’s best mare. She is own daughter of the $9.5 million dollar sire PLAYGUN, and her offspring have earnings of $254,742. The Wagonhound ranch had the misfortune of losing this excellent mare this year. ONE TIME MELODY, a full sibling to ONE GUN AT A TIME, was a Top Ten Finisher in the Reno Open Futurity. PLAYGUNS PEPTO, another full sibling, was the Tri-State AQHA Ranching Heritage Four-Year-Old Open Working Ranch Horse Champion. STRESSIN, “Gunner’s” granddam, is the mother of money earners of $707,466.

One cannot write a better cow horse pedigree. “GUNNER” is a big, strong horse that stands 15.1” and received a year of reined cow horse training. My kids will tell you he is the most athletic stallion we have ever owned, which is saying a lot. We feel very fortunate to own him. We all share the excitement what “GUNNER” brings to our program. To say we are excited about his colts is an understatement, this is a tremendous set of weanlings he has sired that are in the sale. We know you will like the colts that we are offering this year, and the kids can’t wait to ride them. 5 Panel N/N

PC LAUGHIN JUDGE, a big, powerful gray horse that is an own son of JUDGE CASH. He brings a big time rodeo pedigree to our program, and we are excited to add him to the stallion lineup. This is his fourth crop of colts and we are excited to watch his colts grow up. They are showing good size and willing attitudes. “JUD” posseses great bone and feet. He sires colts with good bone, withers and a lot of them have his gray color. It will be exciting when these colts hit the rodeo scene. The JUDGE CASH/SUN FROST cross is really starting to win in the barrel racing and the roping pen.

JUDGE CASH has race earnings of $115,936 and SI 110. He has sired race earners of over a million dollars and barrel race earning of over $2 million, four NFR Qualifiers, including the 2010 AQHA/PRCA Horse of the Year, QUICK JUDGE.

His dam, PC LAUGHIN CAJUN, combines the very best of Stanley Johnston/Pat Cowan breeding. BOON DOX JOHN horses are known for being great rodeo horses, and possess the mind to be able to handle it. I really like the BOON DOX JOHN bred horses, if you look back at the studs I used over the years, you will see many trace to this great sire, all from the mare side. He also has two shots of SUN FROST and traces to the great LAUGHING BOY. It would be hard to write a better rodeo pedigree. PC DOX CAJUN, a circuit champion sire and PC MISS SAN BARS, producer of several rodeo winners, was a full sister to the great PC LAUGHIN SUNDUST - both are ¾ siblings to FRENCHMANS GUY. Once you see JUD’S colts, we know you will be excited about this young sire as we are. 5 Panel N/N

Originally Smooth

ORIGINALLY SMOOTH is an extremely good looking buckskin stud that we purchased from Copper Spring Ranch in Bozeman, Montana. He looks more like his sire everyday. We like “MARCO’S” pedigree with lots of speed and a shot of cow. Marco is sired by A SMOOTH GUY, one of FRENCHMANS GUY’S top sons. A SMOOTH GUY is a leading sire of horses sold in 2015, 2016 and 2017. He also won AQHA points in heading and heeling. And he is siring winners of over $3 million with $930,000 in 2021 alone. Offspring won more than $170,000 at the first Riata Buckle. He is the sire of SMOOTH N FAMOUS, a multiple Futurity finalist and earnings to date of $160,000 and A SMOOTH MOVIN GUY, the 2018 Reserve Champion in Old Fort Days Futurity. His colts are competing in all disciplines, including breakaway roping. A SMOOTH GUY is known for siring level-headed horses that are easy to train. Marco sure fits the mold, as he is intelligent and willing to learn. He has also shown a lot of atheleticism when ridden.

Marco’s dam, THE ORIGINAL SIN, has a SI of 89 and race earnings of over $9,860. She is the mother to four starters with earnings of over $12,000. She is an own daughter of FIRST DOWN DASH SI of 105 with race earnings of $857,256. His maternal Grandsire was AQHA three-year-old Champion, RARE FORM, SI 120 with Equi Stat barrel racing earnings of $107,244. This is an excellent set of colts sired by Marco with something for everyone. He sires colts with excellent hips and great eye appeal. Marco’s colts are always eye-pleasing and are well received by customers. We are riding his colts now and they are all we thought they would be. His first daughters have weanlings in the sale this year, and these broodmares will be a great addition to our program. All ORIGINALLY SMOOTH offspring are eligible for the Riata Buckle. 5 Panel N/N

Once In A Play Boon

An outstanding bay roan stud sired by the great ONCE IN A BLU BOON and out of the great mare PLAYGUNS MELODY. When we got the chance to buy another colt out of this mare, we jumped at it. She was truly one of the great mares in the industry. ONCE IN A PLAY BOON, or “Tyson”, is an extremely heavy boned horse with good thickness. We have ridden him here on the ranch and he has a laid back attitude and really loves people. He is extremely cowy and eager to do anything you ask.

PLAYGUN is an all-time leading cutting and reined cow horse sire since 2003. PLAYGUN has influenced mulitple disciplines and is a name that resonates with people of the western performance horse industry. He is an out-cross for many of today’s popular performance horse bloodlines, and we are glad to bring him into our program through one of his greatest daughters. We think you will like the colts we are offering out of “Tyson.” These colts are all out of first time mares, and they all show his disposition. Here is a big stout sorrel colt that has unusual markings with a lot of white on his legs and dark spots throughout. A real classy looker. His mother, a good-producing mare, is a full sister to Weavers Poco Rain, the dam to the $150,000 selling horse at the Legends of Ranching Sale at Colorado State this spring. Weavers Poco Stormy is also the mother to Pete Kyle’s money-winning gelding. This colt has a lot of potential. Just needs someone to point him in the right direction.

Another good-producing daughter of Genuinely Busy is the mother of this weanling. As you can see by going through this catalog, there are a number of them. Mother is a good bay mare that is a granddaughter of the great mare Pretty Miss Fox. A nice black filly with very little white will make someone a nice ride mare. A well-bred filly that I know will make a tremendous broodmare down the road.

A good solid sorrel colt that has an outstanding hip and good bone. You won’t find a lot of 2024 weanlings with the bone this colt has. He will be a big, powerful saddle horse that can take a lot of hard riding. I guarantee he will be able to pull a bull in a trailer; the best part is he will enjoy it. Nice prospect.

Big, tall, good-looking buckskin filly. This filly will have some size at maturity. She will check all the boxes. Mother is a good-producing Ima Bit of Heaven daughter, one of the few we have left. But I can guarantee you the ones I do are extremely good producers as they have survived the test of time—a nice filly with a strong, proven pedigree.

A powerful, built dark bay filly with four dark feet. A real eye-catcher. Her mother is a top black mare who is a daughter of Ima Tuf Lena, who consistently produces one of our best colts. She had our high-selling colt three times, and this year’s filly is a full sister to one of those top sellers. Take a good look at this filly; she has the bone, hind hip, and athleticism to be your top choice. Michael Yoder, GA, bought a full sister last year.

A top yearling gray filly. We bought this filly’s mother from Jim and Dena Bower, Worland, WY. I have always liked the Lowry Star horses. We want to welcome you to our 29th Annual Production Sale. We are glad you have been able to attend, whether it be in person or online. We appreciate the interest you show in our breeding program, as well as your continued patronage over the years. The Weaver Family has been raising horses for 136 years, and our grandkids are the sixth generation continuing this legacy.

KellyAnne and Casey live in Lewistown, MT. KellyAnne manages and is a partner in two hotels in LewistownThe Calvert Hotel and The B&B Motel. She is Chair of the Lewistown City Commission and serves on the Montana Historic Preservation Board for the State of Montana. She is also the Chair of the Ranching Heritage Committee for the AQHA. Casey continues to manage a ranch in the Snowy Mountains and worked this past summer on redoing the stallion pens at the Weaver Ranch along with several water projects. Wyatt (21) works as an Apprentice Electrician in Lewistown, MT and still hunts and rides horses whenever he can. Avery (19) continues her studies in Health Care Administration at MSUBillings and works in Home Health Care as a CNA. Avery and Wyatt continue to be involved in our breeding program and help out on the ranch when they can.

David and his family are in Bozeman. David runs the Bozeman branch of Montana Bonding, and Stacie is the manager of the Last Best Place Brewery. Hailey (20) is a junior at MSU-Bozeman for Fish and Wildlife Management and Dani (19) is the manager of The Clothes Line. Jayden (17) works in the Electronics Department of Walmart and is going into his senior year of High School. Wesley (7) loves dinosaurs and hanging out with Grammy.

Daniel and Danielle own and run the Big Sandy Pharmacy and opened the Wolves Den Pharmacy in Stanford, MT in April 2024. Eleanor (5) and Alexandra (4) keep their parents on their toes, and little brother Oliver (two in October) keeps his big sisters on their toes. Daniel runs the haying, farming and cattle operations on the ranch. The kids enjoy being at the ranch and around the animals – especially the horses!

Katrina Panec continues to work for us and keeps us organized. She takes good care of all the animals, and always has a horse or calf or barn cat following her around.

Nancy and I had the opportunity to go to Germany and Spain to promote the horse this past year through a sponsorship by the Montana Department of Agriculture. We also attend all the horse events we can around the country, including the NFR. I enjoy the cattle brokering I continue to do, even in these fluctuating markets, because it keeps me around old friends in the business.

Nancy serves as a National AQHA Director and is on the Public Policy Committee. I still serve on the AQHA Ranching Council, a selected group of ranchers from around the nation that help advise on ranching matters. Once again we look forward to visiting will visiting with all our customers on sale day!

God Bless - Stan Weaver
