Welcome to my Blackmar-Diemer Gambit games page! On this page I display links to my chess games in which I played either side of the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit. The games include analysis and diagrams. I will place the actual games on separate pages listed by the opponent played. The Blackmar-Diemer Gambit is an opening in which White sacrifices a pawn in order to get pressure on Black’s f7 square. Although the move order can vary, the opening usually goes something like this: 1. d4 d5 2. e4 dxe4 3. f3

Blackmar-Diemer Gambit after 3.f3.

Black can accept the gambit pawn by playing 3… exf3 or decline with moves like 3… Bf5 or 3… Nf6. If the gambit is accepted then White can recapture with either 4. Qxf3 or 4. Nxf3.
