September 2017 Dear Friends of the Cause for Father Vincent R. Capodanno’s Canonization: The past few months have been busy and very exciting for the Guild, resulting in much good news to share with you! We’re growing, with over 300 new Supporters; and there’s news of recent happenings, a few reminders, an opportunity to donate and receive special gifts, along with upcoming events.

UPDATE ON THE CAUSE FOR FATHER CAPODANNO’S BEATIFICATION & CANONIZATION When Archbishop Broglio closed the archdiocesan phase of the Cause at the Memorial Mass in May 2017, the findings of the tribunal were sealed and sent to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in Rome. The Congregation will review the documents, along with the interviews of witnesses conducted during the archdiocesan phase. If the Congregation is convinced that Father Capodanno is a person of virtue, he will be designated as a Venerable Servant of God. A miracle, obtained through the intercession of Father Capodanno, is required before he is declared “Blessed.” The tribunal is currently considering potential miracles for presentation to the Congregation. In October, Archbishop Broglio and Msgr. Pugliese will be in Rome. They will ask the Postulator for the Cause, a canon lawyer, specially trained and certified by the Congregation, for his opinion on the selected miracle. They will also seek clarification on the miracle submission process. IMPORTANT REMINDERS:  Please contact the Guild with information on any possible miracles attained through the intercession of the Servant of God, Father Vincent Capodanno.  Thank you for your continued prayers and generous financial support! It’s through your prayers and sacrifices that the Cause is being advanced. Your donations sustain the ongoing work of the postulator in Rome, and the Guild’s efforts to make known the life, work, and sacrifices of Father Vincent Capodanno.
