ATHLETIC TRAINING An Athletic Trainer is a qualified, allied health care professional educated and experienced in the prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, protection, and management of health care problems. Athletic trainers may be employed in a variety of settings, including clinics, high schools, universities, or businesses.

HEALTH, FITNESS & RECREATION Individuals with a degree in Health, Fitness & Recreation are health and physical activity experts in the medical and non-medical setting. The Sport Management curriculum follows the recommendations of the North American Society for Sport Management.

PERFORMANCE LEARNING The Sport Management major offers multiple practicums to help students gain exposure to a variety of areas within the field. There will be plenty of opportunities for field experiences before graduation. Coursework allows the option of choosing from several electives, allowing students to earn a minor in or outside the Department of Exercise Science & Sport.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION Physical Education teachers work to advance the health and physical activity levels of school age populations in the K-12 setting. A Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a teaching licensure will provide you with the credentials and experience needed to teach physical education or to coach in a school setting. If you have an interest in working with students to help them acquire new activity-based skills and to improve their physical health, this major will be a great fit for you.

HOUSING RESIDENCE HALLS First-year students are assigned to one of Millikin’s oncampus residence halls. Rooms come furnished with beds, desks and chairs, dressers, and closets. Amenities vary by hall, but typically include laundry facilities, vending machines, kitchen access, air conditioning, wireless Internet, cable TV, and secured access. Dolson and Weck offer suite-style bathrooms.

Apartments feature four private bedrooms, full kitchen with microwave, washer/dryer, private deck or patio, and modern furnishings. The Woods also offers a long list of community amenities that include a pool, fitness center, computer lab, parking, theater room, and a gated community.
