Undergraduate Programs

The Tabor School of Business offers 11 majors, 8 minors and 10 undergraduate business certificates. With diverse program options ranging from business to entrepreneurship to technology, students gain versatile skills and are able to customize their education to fit the evolving job market. Students also have the opportunity to begin taking Master of Business Administration courses during their senior year to get a jump-start on completing their MBA.

Student-Run Ventures

Millikin has 12 student-run ventures managed and operated by students as part of a unique learning laboratory course. Faculty advise students in all aspects of running a business. With actual clients and money at stake, students experience real risk and reward. Student-run ventures vary across campus with options such as: IT consulting, graphic design, theatre management, record label production, art gallery management and more.

Center for Entrepreneurship

The Center for Entrepreneurship supports entrepreneurial efforts across campus. The Center assists student business startups through mentoring and programming, provides entrepreneurship education to the campus and community and engages students in co-curricular experiences.

The award-winning Center for Entrepreneurship is a hub for entrepreneurial activity both on campus and in the Decatur community. The Center supports business startups through mentoring and competitions, assists faculty in infusing entrepreneurship into disciplines across campus and provides programming and support to Decatur-area business owners.

All student-run ventures and entrepreneurial opportunities at Millikin are interdisciplinary, meaning that Tabor students will work with students in a variety of other majors, allowing them an inside look at other industries and experiences.

Accounting

Learn accounting theory and practice the fundamental skills of problem-solving, communicating and critical thinking necessary for long-term success in the field.

Career opportunities: Auditor, corporate accountant, consultant, tax accountant, business analyst, public accountant.

Business Communication

Study the nature and role of business communication while learning to craft and deliver critical messages to essential stakeholders.

Career opportunities: Communication specialist/manager, fundraiser, talent acquisition/recruiting, customer relations, sales consultant, professional/corporate trainer.

Communication

The communication degree offers a high degree of customization as well as onthe-job experience that makes our students stand out to employers.

Career opportunities: Television production assistant, operations manager for radio station, communications coordinator in marketing, social media manager, brand consultant.

Cybersecurity

Build technical skills related to IT infrastructure, networking and information security, for a strong foundation necessary to protect systems from cyber threats.

Career opportunities: Security, network or threat analyst for corporations or law enforcement agencies, information security auditor.

Digital Media Marketing

Students learn to use digital technologies, social media and mobile devices to develop and implement innovative marketing programs within any type of organization.

Career opportunities: Digital marketing, sales, e-commerce, business development, web analytics, advertising, content and social media marketing.

Entrepreneurship

Students with a degree in entrepreneurship will cultivate the skills to create, lead, innovate and own businesses.

Career opportunities: Entrepreneurship graduates typically work for companies as they build a unique portfolio. Students planning to take over a family business may choose entrepreneurship to stay on top of innovative practices.

Finance

Learn to evaluate and quantify risk, compute measures of profitability and estimate the value of corporate investment projects and securities.

Career opportunities: Financial analyst, investment manager, commercial lending officers, insurance underwriters.

International Business

Students who complete a degree in international business will be culturally aware, business savvy and willing to adapt to cross-cultural environments.

Career opportunities: International trade specialist, management analyst, marketing manager, sales manager, financial analyst.

Management

This major prepares students to manage challenges and leverage opportunities in a contemporary, changing and global business environment.

Career opportunities: Logistical functions, management-related industries, human resources, supply chain management.

Management Information Systems

Students learn the ability to collect, organize, store, analyze and transform data into understandable information to impact an organization’s performance.

Career opportunities: Database analyst, systems analyst, application developer, programmer analyst, web developer, security analyst, technical analyst.

Organizational Leadership

Major courses in this program are available 100% online. The program is designed for students who already have some college credit and are looking for flexibility in advancing their knowledge, skills and abilities.

Career opportunities: Human resources manager, sales and marketing manager, leadership development, project manager.

Rolling Admission

Admission to Millikin is considered on a rolling basis. In addition to grades and test scores, Millikin will consider your extracurricular activities, community service, hobbies and drive to succeed.

Save Your Seat

Make it Millikin by submitting a $150 Advance Tuition Deposit. The deposit is credited toward your tuition and refundable until May 1.

File Your FAFSA

The only financial aid form Millikin requires is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). File any time after October 1 at fafsa.gov. Millikin’s school code is 001724.
