Founded in 1890 by Major Reuben Webster Millsaps, the College has a historical affiliation with the United Methodist Church. Covering 100 beautiful acres in the heart of Jackson, the Millsaps campus centers around the tree-lined “Bowl,” where students gather for quiet study and spirited play. STUDENTS Millsaps is home to just under 1,000 students from 26 states and 23 countries. Fifty-nine percent come from outside Mississippi. FACULTY Among our faculty of 97 teacher/ scholars, 94 percent hold the highest degree in their fields. RESIDENTIAL LIFE Seventy percent of students live on campus. Roughly half are affiliated with one of the College’s 10 national Greek organizations. GRADUATION RATE Because each student starts with a four year gration plan, Millsaps’ four year graduation rate is double that of any other university or college in Mississippi.

The middle 50 percent of Millsaps students’ ACT and SAT scores is 23–29 and 1060–1230, respectively, and 87 percent had a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. Learn more: millsaps.edu/admissions FINANCIAL AID Millsaps offers two kinds of aid— scholarships based on academic merit and need-based grants for students whose families require assistance in meeting college costs. More than 80 percent of incoming students receive some type of aid from the College. In 2014-2015, the average financial aid package for students with demonstrated need was $31,863. STUDY ABROAD

UNDERGRADUATE BUSINESS SCHOOL Undergraduate students can enhance their liberal arts study with a major or course work at the College’s own Else School of Management. An AACSBaccredited institution, Else offers majors in accounting, business administration, and economics; a fifth-year MBA option; highimpact internships, innovative programs for entrepreneurship and community out-reach; and opportunites to study business theory and practices around the world.

About half of Millsaps students study in another country— most through the College’s unique faculty-led trips, which immerse students in other cultures and often lead to life-long relationships with professors.

LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCES

$ Students also pursue semester or full-year abroad programs offered by partner colleges and universities in other countries around the world.

Through the Compass Curriculum, all students explore the humanities, sciences, fine arts, and social sciences, building a broad base of knowledge and learning to synthesize ideas across disciplines. Whatever their major, students gain a core set of skills and perspectives—from critical reasoning to social and cultural awareness to written and verbal communication. They graduate as nimble and adaptable thinkers prepared for success in an ever-changing world.

INTERNSHIPS Whether shadowing a neurosurgeon at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, exploring the archives at the Eudora Welty House Museum, interning at an international accounting firm, or researching legislation at the Mississippi State House, Millsaps students hone skills and build powerful networks while logging professional experience.

YUCATÁN Applying their learning in a whole new context, students travel to the College’s 4,500-acre biocultural reserve and environmental laboratory in Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula for research and fieldwork—and to the College’s Center for Business and Culture in nearby Merida, Mexico.
