If so, this class is for you. We will explore Finale’s powerful music writing tools and learn some basic ways to think about putting music materials together that will allow you to explore your creative side through music composition.

In this course, we will discuss ways of making an informed choice of a health-related profession based on your strengths, interests and goals. We will explore the benefits of developing a personalized strategy so you can be the best possible medical/dental/allied health school applicant at the end of your four years in college. Since the health care industry continues to be one of the fastest growing job markets in the country, it is a great time to consider a health-related profession as a career choice. Join us to explore some of the laws that already affect your daily life and to learn about the practice and profession of law. You will see the wide range of law practice and how lawyers touch nearly every aspect of education, business and government. Do you have a hobby or skill or passion from which you would like to make money? Do friends or family come to you to ask for your help with something you’re good at? Special offerings The future of southern studies: what does it mean to be a southerner today? INSTRUCTOR: Nell Knox | COST: $60 DATE: Mondays, Jan. 27-Feb. 10 | TIME: 6-7:30 p.m. This class offers an introduction to southern studies, examining how and why we study the American South. We will examine Southern traditions, roles, folklore, mythology and stereotypes as we construct our own working definition of what it means to be a Southerner. And as southerners today, what is our responsibility to our history, culture and customs that both separate and connect the South with the rest of the nation?
Backyard astronomy INSTRUCTOR: Jim Waltman | COST: $100 + $5 materials fee DATE: Tuesdays, Jan. 28-Mar. 04 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. Astronomy is one of the most challenging, beautiful, and rewarding hobbies! This is your chance to learn about the subject with “hands-on� experience. Surveying some of the simpler concepts of astronomy, this intro class also focuses on what can be observed, the tools used, types of observation specialties available, and the strategies for a successful observing session. Resources are identified to continue the learning process and provide help along the way. A field trip to the Russell C. Davis Planetarium is planned toward the end of the course.

Beginning magic INSTRUCTOR: Robert Day | COST: $50 DATE: Thursdays, Jan. 30 and Feb. 06 | TIME: 6:30-8 p.m. Would you like to be the life of the party? Or be able to break the ice at your next business meeting? Learn to dazzle your friends with magic. Magic is an art, and instructor Robert Day will offer an insight into magic and expose you to beginning theory. He will teach secrets to master beginning magic tricks and sleights of hand. Please bring a deck of Bicycle playing cards, a Sharpie pen, and four quarters. All other supplies will be furnished by the instructor.
Religions of the world: a survey of the ways the world thinks INSTRUCTOR: James Bowley | COST: $100 DATE: Thursdays, Jan. 30-Feb. 20 | TIME: 6:30-8 p.m. Have you ever wondered about the religion of your neighbor? Or what goes on in that church, temple or mosque you pass on the way to work? How do religions differ? How are they the same? Learning about the world’s religions, such as Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Judaism, can be enjoyable and useful! Join us for this non-sectarian survey of religions.
Wine, geology, geography and climate INSTRUCTOR: John Malanchak | COST: $100 + $25 materials fee DATE: Thursdays, Jan. 30-Feb. 20 | TIME: 5:30-6:45 p.m. Come learn how geology, geography, and climate have influenced the development of the great wine regions of the world. For hundreds of years, Europeans have believed, and continue to believe, that a site’s “terroir” strongly influences the quality of wine. In this class we will discuss the physical components of “terroir” and taste associated wines from the major wine regions. Please note: Only persons 21 and older will be admitted to this class.
ACT test prep course INSTRUCTOR: Leonard Blanton | COST: $70 DATE: Saturday, Feb. 01 | TIME: 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. This test prep course is a fast-paced presentation of test-taking strategies designed to help students test nearer to their ability levels on reasoning tests such as ACT, SAT, etc. The course will assist students in identifying and addressing obstacles including starting too late, no or incorrect information about the test, fear, fatigue, perfectionism, and/or lack of experience at solving counterintuitive problems. This approach to improving scores includes subject matter connection, time management tips, and ways to build confidence. Please note: This course will not be a review of the subject matter the tests are designed to measure.

Introduction to ballroom dancing
Dance
INSTRUCTORS: Mike and Lisa Day | COST: $100 DATE: Mondays, Jan. 27-Feb. 17 | TIME: 7-8 p.m. This limited class teaches the basics of six of the most popular social dances: waltz, foxtrot, tango, rumba, cha-cha, and single step swing. Class participants are required to wear shoes with leather soles (no tennis shoes, sandals or backless shoes). This course will be taught at Dance Connection Ballroom Dance Center in Pearl. Singles and couples are welcome.
Line dancing for fun and fitness! INSTRUCTOR: Sandra Plunkett | COST: $80 DATE: Mondays, Jan. 27-Mar. 03 | TIME: 7:15-8:15 p.m. Learn to line dance to all types of music and beats, from cha-cha to swing to waltz to something a little funky. This class will also promote your cardiovascular health, give you a low intensity aerobic workout, and improve your memory. Wear shoes comfortable for dancing. Each student will receive a packet of dance steps and a CD of the songs to which we will be dancing.

Learn the basics of floral design with Tom and Nancy McIntyre of A Daisy a Day and have fun at the same time! This is a hands-on course to learn floral decorating for your home or friends. Bring a pen, paper, knife, scissors and your desire to create something original! Enrollment is limited. Please note: The materials fee will cover lovely arrangements that you will create and take home to enjoy. The class will meet at A Daisy A Day in Highland Village.
Botanical drawing: capturing nature in art INSTRUCTOR: Dain Hayes | COST: $75 + supplies DATE: Mondays, Jan. 27 -Feb. 17 | TIME: 5:30-6:30 p.m. Would you like to capture the natural beauty of plants and flowers with paper and pencil? This introductory class on botanical drawing will help you develop that unique skill. Each week the instructor will focus on different topics, which will include drawing leaves, stems, bark, and flowers. Participants will also use colored pencils to bring a lifelike quality to their drawings.

Fiber arts: mini-quilt making INSTRUCTOR: Diane Williams | COST: $100 + $25 supply fee DATE: Mondays, Jan. 27 -Feb. 17 | TIME: 6-7:30 p.m. The class will be introduced to the elements of art and principles of design and will create mixed media fiber arts designs. While exploring both abstract and realistic contemporary patterns, the class will create hand quilted wall hangings and framed designs that include a variety of fabrics, colors and embellishments (beads, specialty yarns, metals, etc.). Kits will be provided to students, but participants can bring their favorite fabrics/colors, patterns, and elements. Depending on the level of experience, participants will create 1-3 designs at least 14� x 14� in size.

Beginning photography INSTRUCTOR: Ron Blaylock | COST: $175 DATE: Mondays, Jan. 27 -Feb. 17 | TIME: 9-10:30 a.m. OR DATE: Mondays, Jan. 27 -Feb. 17 | TIME: 6:30-8 p.m. In this class you will learn how to operate your digital or film camera and compose better photographs. We will cover all of the basic principles of photography in this course. Topics will include exposure (F-stop, shutter speed, and ISO), camera controls, basic composition, lighting, picking the right equipment, digital photography and more.
Beginning knitting I INSTRUCTOR: Donna Peyton | COST: $50 + supplies DATE: Tuesdays, Jan. 28 -Feb. 18 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. Begun out of the necessity of creating clothing for protection from the elements, knitting has evolved into a creative hobby that produces not only practical but fashionable garments and accessories. In this beginner class, you will learn basic knitting techniques such as casting on, knitting, purling, decreasing stitches, binding off, and seaming. Projects completed will include a washcloth, a hat, and fingerless mitts. A list of supplies will be sent with the class confirmation.
Calligraphy: the art of beautiful writing INSTRUCTOR: Betsy Greener COST: $100 + $35 materials fee

In this course, you will be provided with step-by-step instructions while you learn the art of beautiful writing using Copperplate script. In our technological age, the appreciation for the art of calligraphy has grown incredibly; it’s a fun hobby, a great business and a creative art. This class will include a discussion of the many ways to use calligraphy, both for personal satisfaction and as a source of income. Calligraphy is an art form in which patience and attention to detail are more important than artistic talent.

Calligraphy: the graceful flourish (advanced class) INSTRUCTOR: Betsy Greener | COST: $150 + supplies DATE: Tuesdays, Jan. 28 -Feb. 18 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. This is an advanced calligraphy class for students who have previous experience with the pointed pen. Flourishing is an expressive and ornate non-lettering calligraphic art form with limitless possibilities. Elegant designs that appear complex and labor intensive are demystified throughout this class. Beginning with a blank piece of paper, the student will be guided through the process of creating these fascinating flourishes. We will explore the essential strokes of off-hand flourishing as well as ways of adding depth and color to these beautiful designs. This is an excellent course for those who are new to flourishing or for anyone who wishes to have a deeper understanding of the underlying principles of flourishing. Watercolor painting INSTRUCTOR: Laurel Schoolar | COST: $95 + supplies DATE: Tuesdays, Jan. 28 -Mar. 04 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. Watercolors are rich translucent paints that create beautiful and exciting results. This course is for beginning as well as more experienced students. In this class, you will learn different painting techniques and sharpen your creative and technical skills by painting still life and landscape. Composition and use of color will be stressed.
Paint and antique furniture like a pro INSTRUCTOR: Latresa Enns | COST: $150 + $50 supply fee DATE: Tuesday, Jan. 28 -Feb. 18 | TIME: 10 a.m.-noon OR DATE: Tuesday, Jan. 28 -Feb. 18 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. Learn the proper way to paint and antique furniture and cabinets at a fraction of the cost. You will also learn different ways to achieve an antique finish on several types of surfaces. You will learn how to make chalk and milk paints, as well as learn where to buy local products without a professional license. By the end of the course, you will be able to antique your furniture or cabinets with confidence for under $100. Wear old clothes and bring a hair dryer. The class will meet at the instructor’s studio in Madison.

Exciting new guide to portrait drawing INSTRUCTOR: Keisi Ward | COST: $90 + supplies DATE: Tuesdays, Jan. 28 -Mar. 04 | TIME: 6-7:30 p.m. The instructor will create a fun/relaxed atmosphere to teach students the basic steps and details for sketching/drawing faces using various techniques. The lecturer will share art experiences, useful portrait tips, and provide one-onone assistance to students. In turn, students will be able to tap into their artistic abilities and utilize methods in order to draw a wonderful facial portrait of their favorite friend or loved one by the end of the 6 weeks program!
Intro to mosaics INSTRUCTOR: Teresa Haygood | COST: $100 + $30 materials fee DATE: Wednesdays, Jan. 29-Feb. 19 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. This class will teach you everything you need to know to make beautiful mosaics for the home and garden. We will learn the process of mosaic design, including how to cut and shape glass, how to choose proper adhesives, and techniques to grout the final project. Students will make both an indoor and an outdoor mosaic that they can take home.
Pottery/sculpture INSTRUCTOR: Tom Morrison | COST: $150 + $40 glazing fee DATE: Wednesdays, Jan. 29-Feb. 26 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. In this class you will be introduced to slab building and other hand building techniques. You will make your own forms, draw out surface designs, learn about and apply ceramic glazes, and take home fired ceramic artwork of your own design. Bring a sketch book, a #2 graphite pencil, and a $40 glazing fee. You will also need to bring a towel to class and wear old clothes. Oil painting INSTRUCTOR: Tom Morrison | COST: $150 + supplies DATE: Saturdays, Feb. 01-Feb. 22 | TIME: 10-11:30 a.m. In this class you learn to apply charcoal, graphite, and oil paint to canvas, the basic techniques of oil color mixing and layering to create effects, as well as learning the basic elements of design and composition. Intermediate mosaics INSTRUCTOR: Teresa Haygood | COST: $100 + $40 materials fee DATE: Mondays, Feb. 03-Feb. 24 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. Students will learn to advance their skill at mosaic design by creating a larger 3-dimensional project. Students will be required to bring their own mosaic nippers and glass cutters. They should have previous experience with cutting and shaping glass, a fundamental knowledge of mosaic design, and experience with finishing techniques such as grouting the final project. The goals of this 4-part class will be to advance beginners to the next level of mosaic creation and build confidence to design and create independently.
Basic glass fusion: dichroic cabochons INSTRUCTOR: Laura Tarbutton | COST: $50 + $45 materials fee DATE: Tuesday, Feb. 04 and Thursday, Feb. 06 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. In this basic glass fusion class, students will create glass cabochons with sheet glass and dichroic glass. Glass stringers and frit and twisties will also be used. Students will fill a 4x4 tray with pieces to be fired in the kiln. The instructor will give the student ideas on how these cabochons can be used in a variety of jewelry techniques including PMC, polymer clay or glue-on bails, which will be provided to finish your pieces in class. Bob Ross® landscape painting INSTRUCTOR: Michael Hughes | COST: $60 + $20 to rent supplies (can bring your own.) DATE: Saturday, Feb. 15 | TIME: 3-6:30 p.m. OR DATE: Saturday, Mar. 15 | TIME: 3-6:30 p.m. Using the Bob Ross® wet-on-wet technique, instructor Michael Hughes will conduct these classes suited to beginners. Students will be instructed in the basic application of oil paint to a canvas, introduced to different types of brushes, and complete a painting by the end of the class. Please note: Both classes will meet at Hobby Lobby in Flowood.

Professional fine art photographer Ron Blaylock will lead participants through the steps to correct, enhance, and experiment with their own digital photos using Adobe Photoshop Elements software.

Fine silver jewelry making (with precious metal clay 3-dichroic glass) INSTRUCTOR: Laura Tarbutton | COST: $70 + $75 materials fee DATE: Tuesday, Feb. 25 and Thursday, Feb. 27 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. This fun, fast-paced class will inspire your creative spirit and take you to the next level as you create a one-of-a-kind pendant using precious metal clay and dichroic cabochon. You will learn advanced techniques in PMC including embedding dichroic glass cabochons and fine silver wire, along with learning how to incorporate dichroic glass cabochons into precious metal clay. Please note: This class will be held at the instructor’s studio in Brandon.

Advanced furniture antiquing INSTRUCTOR: Latresa Enns | COST: $200 + $75 supply fee DATE: Tuesday, Feb. 25 -Mar. 11 | TIME: 10 a.m.-noon OR DATE: Tuesday, Feb. 25 -Mar. 11 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. Learn advanced painting techniques (as well as easy modern techniques) that will make your old or new furniture look like it came from early periods with beautiful pictures, hand carving, and gold leaf. The class will be held at the instructor’s studio in Madison. Please note: You must have completed the previous antiquing class or have extensive painting experience to participate in this class.
Location portrait workshop INSTRUCTOR: Ron Blaylock | COST: $185 DATE: Saturday, Mar. 01 | TIME: 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. In this workshop, we will work with a model on several locations in and around Canton to learn the ins and outs of location photography. Topics will include how to modify the existing light, how to use off-camera flash, and how to select cameras and lenses. Picking the right location, posing subjects, and working with families and children will also be discussed. Please note: This class requires a digital SLR camera and completion of the Beginning Photography class.

Heritage and history Jackson’s North State Street: an architectural history INSTRUCTOR: Todd Sanders | COST: $40 DATE: Monday, Jan. 27 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. North State was a premier residential street from the 1840s until the 1920s. We will look at photographs of many long gone houses and institutional and religious structures, as well as those that have survived. In so doing, we will try to understand what happened to this once beautiful thoroughfare that caused it to decline from one of the greatest streets in Mississippi to just another busy traffic artery.
Mississippi’s architectural history INSTRUCTOR: Todd Sanders | COST: $80 DATE: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 28-Feb. 06 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. Beginning with the years 1699-1800, we will discuss the architectural history of the state of Mississippi. We will also discuss the arrival of high style architecture in the 1800s. Next, we will discuss the years 1875-1945 when Mississippi moved toward the mainstream. The last lecture will focus on Mississippi’s participation in the modern movement in American architecture, as well as a brief discussion of the historic preservation movement and where it is today.

Lessons from the life and works of Winston Churchill INSTRUCTOR: Michael Reinhard | COST: $90 DATE: Tuesdays, Jan. 28-Feb. 18 | TIME: 6-7:30 p.m. Winston Churchill’s role in history is almost a legend. Few men can claim they changed the course of history. In the opinion of many historians if Churchill had not become the leader of Great Britain in 1940, the British would have accepted a negotiated peace with Hitler leaving him in control of almost the entire continent of Europe, with incalculable consequences for human history. Beyond the main history of Churchill’s career, we will look at some of the lesser known aspects of his life including his use of the English language, his use of humor, his impact on social policy, and his roles in changing the modern map. Finally, we will look at his other interests and views on how to approach the business of life in general.
The forgotten era in Mississippi architecture: reconstruction to the gilded age INSTRUCTOR: Todd Sanders | COST: $60 DATE: Wednesdays, Jan. 29-Feb. 05 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. Few of us stop to think about the architecture of Mississippi immediately after the end of the Civil War and before the ornate, elaborate architecture of the so-called “Gilded Age” of the 1890s. We will examine the building environment of this period and discover that many fine buildings were constructed and that many of them survived. Topics covered include the continued use of building forms and architectural styles from the antebellum period and their “evolution” to reflect changing tastes and needs, the introduction of new architectural styles and the development of new building forms, and also the impact that the revitalization of the railroads and their expansion had on the architecture of the period.

Language and literature Talking your way through the French-speaking world INSTRUCTOR: Robert Kahn | COST: $99 DATE: Mondays, Jan. 27-Feb. 24 | TIME: 5:30-6:30 p.m. If you plan to go to France, Quebec, or any place else where French is spoken, for business or pleasure, this course is a must! Come join us and learn basic pronunciation and practical conversational French. In addition, various aspects of daily life in French-speaking countries will be discussed.
Great Books series: money INSTRUCTOR: Steve Overman | COST: $60 + books DATE: Every other Monday, Jan. 27-Apr. 07 | TIME: 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Great Books series provides stimulating and challenging readings from classic and contemporary literature, with discussions from the selections. This group will be reading from the Great Books Foundation publication Vital Ideas: Money. Whether you possess large amounts of money or crave more, the selections will help you make sense of this complex medium of exchange. The group members should be willing to take turns leading discussions. To tell the truth: creative nonfiction INSTRUCTOR: Ellen Ann Fentress | COST: $105 DATE: Mondays, Jan. 27-Mar. 03 | TIME: 6:30-8 p.m. In this class, participants will explore nonfiction forms, including memoir, personal essay, humor, and criticism. We’ll look at ways to generate potential topics and explore narrative writing basics. Not only will participants write two major pieces, they also will develop sharper eyes as readers and stronger everyday skills as writers.
Writing and selling short stories part I INSTRUCTOR: John Floyd | COST: $100 DATE: Mondays, Jan. 27-Mar. 10 | TIME: 6:30-8:30 p.m. This introductory course in how to write short fiction and get it published is intended for beginning writers as well as for established writers who want to hone their skills. The course will cover two areas: writing (first four sessions) and marketing (next three sessions). The overall course goal is to create a short story suitable for submission to a publication.
The art of storytelling INSTRUCTOR: Diane Williams | COST: $100 DATE: Tuesdays, Jan. 28-Feb. 18 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. Talented and novice orators alike will learn to create and tell stories weaved from life experiences, books, history, biographies, folktales and Mississippi folklore. Emphasis will be placed on style, presentation, and crafting techniques. Individuals will work on crafting stories, and the class will work as a group to help each person develop his or her presentation and oral communication skills. This class is for everyone–teachers, librarians, preachers, college students, seniors, and anyone wanting to develop the ability to communicate effectively and with charisma.
Talking your way through the Spanish-speaking world INSTRUCTOR: Robert Kahn | COST: $99 DATE: Tuesdays, Jan. 28-Feb. 25 | TIME: 5-6 p.m. Spanish is becoming increasingly important in today’s world. Learn basic language skills for travel, business, and enjoyment. We will cover the vocabulary needed to deal with everyday situations wherever Spanish is spoken. This class is designed for students who have little or no previous experience with modern Chinese and desire a more in-depth exposure to the language. The emphasis of this course will be on phonetic forms and basic grammatical structures, which will provide the student with a foundation to pursue further studies in Mandarin.
How to sell what you write INSTRUCTOR: James Dickerson | COST: $150 DATE: Tuesdays, Jan. 28-Feb. 25 | TIME: 5:30-6:30 p.m. This course is designed to help writers and would-be writers sell what they write to editors. It is suitable for unpublished writers and professionals who want to sell books and magazine articles to national publications. The instructor will provide one-on-one evaluations of nonfiction book proposals, magazine query letters, synopses and first chapters of novels.
Writing and selling short stories part II INSTRUCTOR: John Floyd | COST: $100 DATE: Tuesdays, Jan. 28-Mar. 11 | TIME: 6:30-8:30 p.m. This follow-up course in how to write short fiction and get it published is intended for writers who have already completed the introductory course “Writing and Selling Short Stories Part I.” The class will cover advanced writing and marketing techniques, narrative structure, and the analysis of both literary and commercial short fiction. The overall course goal is to submit a previously written short story to a publication and to create and submit another by the end of the class. The mystery of Margaret Walker Alexander INSTRUCTOR: Carolyn Brown | COST: $40 DATE: Monday, Feb. 03 | TIME: 6-8 p.m. Author Margaret Walker Alexander has been described as “the most famous person nobody knows.” It is a shocking misperception of a woman who was an award-winning poet, novelist, essayist, educator, and activist, as well as friend and mentor to many of our most prominent 20th century African-American writers. She lived and taught in Jackson for thirty years, and her papers at Jackson State University are the nation’s second largest collection of a modern black female author’s papers.

Self-publishing INSTRUCTOR: Cassandra Hawkins-Wilson | COST: $50 + $10 materials fee DATE: Saturday, Feb. 08 | TIME: 9 a.m.-noon Do you have a wonderful idea for a book? Have you written a collection of poetry? Self-publishing just may be your answer. However, the process of self-publishing can be both confusing and overwhelming. This three hour class is designed to assist people who desire to complete much of the self-publishing process themselves. Using Createspace, which is affiliated with Amazon, this class takes students through the process step-by-step. At the end of the course, students will create a sample text and receive a free electronic copy of Life and Struggles by the instructor. Please note: Students should have basic computer skills.

The humble “harp” has become an integral part of many genres of contemporary music, from blues to rock, bluegrass to jazz. In this class, you will learn the rudiments of playing single notes, the differences between melodic and blues playing, the technique of bending notes, and basic songs and phrases. Students will learn how to correctly utilize national, state, and local level statistics to define the project’s problem, write measurable goals and objectives that address today’s increased emphasis on outcomes, conceptualize that project’s methodology, prepare a basic evaluation plan for the project, develop effective grant budgets, and write effective grant budget narratives. These noncredit courses are open to individuals 16 and older of any race, color, gender, national or ethnic origin. Community Enrichment courses are designed to instruct and inform but not to advise. There are no grades and no exams. The classroom atmosphere is informal and focuses on learning. Since classes often fill quickly, we urge you to register early (by one week before if possible) to ensure a place. Register by telephone (601-974-1130), by mail (make check payable to Millsaps College), by fax (601-974-1137 - credit card only), online (www.millsaps.edu/conted), or in person (Gertrude C. Ford Academic Complex, room 100 - Office hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays until January 13 when office hours will be 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Fridays. The campus will be closed December 23-January 1.). Cancellation policy: Classes with insufficient enrollment are subject to cancellation. Students will be notified of a class cancellation by telephone before the first class meeting. Since we must call you during working hours, please supply a phone number where you can be reached during the day or where a message may be left for you. Full refunds of course fees will be given for courses which are cancelled or the registrant may choose an alternate course or receive a credit voucher for future courses. Please allow two or three weeks for refund checks to arrive. Credit card charges will be credited back to the charge card. Class locations and parking: Maps of the campus will be sent with our confirmation notices. If a class is held off campus, directions will be mailed with the confirmation. Specific class locations will be posted in the first floor lobby of the Gerturde C. Ford Academic Complex outside room 100 on the first day of class. You may park underneath the Ford Academic Complex or in front of
Murrah Hall. If your class is held in Olin Hall or the aerobics room, you may enter the campus at the Riverside Drive gate and park in the area next to Olin Hall or the Hall Activities Complex. Please observe all parking signs, including fire lanes, loading zones, and handicapped spaces. If you are stopped at a security gate, just tell the officer you are on campus for a community enrichment class. Parking permits are not required for enrichment students. Classrooms and parking facilities are well lit, and campus security remains on duty throughout the evening. Refunds: A $10 service fee is charged for processing all withdrawals. Refunds will be given up to two working days before a course begins; after that no refunds will be given. If at the last minute you are unable to attend, you may send a friend or colleague in your place–just let us know. Classes are often filled and have waiting lists; therefore, someone who doesn’t show up may deprive someone else of a place in the class.
